I’m somewhat encouraged about the direction the Dems are going in, particularly under Biden. I think he’s doing enough to keep progressives’ bellies full and he’s clearly winning whatever middle ground is left. I kinda felt that January 6 was Trump’s last real hurrah - he will still be ‘around’ but he’s getting older and weaker.
But yeah, Trumpism, even without Trump, lives on. And what I really worry about is what happens when - not if - the country is confronted with a catastrophe, and I’m thinking that climate change and environmental degradation is going to be a very obvious existential crisis before long. Climate change isn’t just about the weather; it’s a civilization killer.
