Yeah, yeah, I know it’s not thought provoking television, and it sure as hell ain’t the Discovery Channel (Well, maybe in a surreal kinda way it could be.;)), but I just wanted to pass along this little progamming tip as a pubic service.
Not only does it look like a moron fest, they kept putting a logo of it in the corner of the screen during Mysteries and Scandals, with a loud kissing noise every few minutes to draw attention.
If you look at the clips, she looks REALLY wacked out. Is this woman on drugs? It’s not so much that she’s saying idiotic nonsense, it’s the way she says it, in this slow, far out type voice-like she’s stoned.
I think E is trying to get on The Osbournes bandwagon. I have nothing against fat people. As a matter of fact, I am a fat people. Whether or not she’s a slob, I have no idea.
The promos for this show just highlight what disgusts me about “reality TV”. In another thread I was disgusted by people talking smack about a woman on Trading Spaces; it just seems crass and tacky to laugh at real people. I get the feeling that some people think of them as “characters” on a show, and some of these shows probably are fake, but promoting a show with the tagline “it’s not supposed to be funny, it just is” seems mean.
She may be an ignorant bimbo, but it seems mean spirited to laugh at her.
I have nothing against fat people. I saw the clip of her crawling around on the floor doing who knows what. This has all the makings of a freak show. She can’t possibly think we’re at all interested in her daily life other than to make fun of her. Even she doesn’t know why she’s on this mess. I do agree with the Osbourne bandwagon thing. Isn’t MTV doing the same with Pamela Anderson?
She is a bizarre chick! I don’t know if anyone followed the trial for her late husband’s estate, but WOW her testimony was CRAZY! It got covered more here (I live in Houston), but if you saw any of it, you’ll know this chick can just fly into a rant that has nothing to do with the questions. She would start yelling at her son-in-law from the witness stand. There should be no lack of fire works for this show. I think the show’s motto, while somewhat tragic, is appropriate.
I heard her on the Howard Stern show the other day, promoting this show. Howard said it was the greatest show ever made, but considering the source take it with a massive rock of salt. She talked about the way she talks, and sweared up and down its not drugs, its just her normal Texas twang. As for why she’s doing it? She was quite up front that she’s doing it for the money mostly. Since the court case about her late husband is still being litagated, she’s in need of cash, hence the show. She also said that the other reason she’s doing it is she wanted to DO something. Apparently she hasn’t been getting out much the last year or so, and this gave her the chance to do new things.
She kinda reminds me of the character Bette Midler played onstage when she was just a singer. Only thing is, Bette was acting and I think Anna Nicole is the genuine article!
This is probably gonna shatter y’all’s image of me, but I have always had a place in my heart (and elsewhere) for a bit of decadence, and I wouldn’t mind a romp with Ms. Smith.
Why are they hyping this so much? She looks stoned, sort of chubby, and her makeup is kind of caked on. Plus her speach is slurred. Is this some kind of sick joke?
I have seen my share of stoned ladies in my line of work, and there is no way she was sober. I’m at work, but some of the guys who work in the ER with me were watching it inbetween patients, and we all agree that she was out of it.
Too bad.
Oh well. I’m forced to agree with Blalron. It’s not going to last any longer than 2-3 episodes. Made me very uncomfortable to watch her being led around by people and trying to talk to her son on the phone.
