Good morning (still, just barely!) We’re just back from erranding that included a stop at the convenience center with trash and recycling, breakfast, and a run to Lowe’s for electrical stuff. I’m going to do a little work outside today. Our roomies are out, maybe for the day, maybe not. I don’t know. They were gone when we got back.
9:13. I’ve been up for two and a half hours. I’m on my 5th cuppa joe. I’ve just made a fresh pot, so I’ll be able to have my full caffeine allotment today. I’m making ham-and-cheese omelettes for breakfast.
I woke up early this morning with the itchy feet I get when they get cold. I put on socks and they started burning, so had to get up, put on pajama pants, a sweatshirt, and my angry birds hat, and walk around a bunch. It sort of helped. I think I must have really lousy blood circulation cos I’m very berry gifted in the fat department. That’s what my mom says anyway (though not in the nice way, I did.)
Sindays are usually pretty boring to me. My dad’s a pastor and we live in the church parking lot. Convenient for me. I can sneak over at the last minute, then take 10 steps immediately when it’s over and return to my hovel. My churchly participation includes carrying food bowls down the stairs for mom who always makes the sheeples breakfast, and helping in Jr church, which we have today. By help, I mean sit there, boredly, and sometimes get up and hand kids things.
If we had a nice church like the one Swamp Bear apparently goes to I wouldn’t mind so much, but we’re like three Kevin Bacons away from the westborouh baptists, and when Sinday school is watching a Kent Hoving creationist video, yeah, it’s kinda hard not to fall off my pew laughing or snoring. But we have some fun conspiracy theorists here so mostly **** study is amusing.
In between morning and evening church I plan on actually living up to my username. I still haven’t finished or published a true murder mystery yet, but that is my goal.
Hope no one minds me jumping in. I’ve never posted in one of these before.
Several years ago I found myself with an Olympus OM-10 camera. Since I have an OM-1n and an OM-4, I gave the OM-10 to Mrs. L.A. She never used it. I asked today if she was ever going to, and she said no. So now I have it back. There are no batteries in it, and there’s fungus on the inside of the front element of the lens. I can get a lens from eBay, and LR44 cells from Rite-Aid. And now I have another camera in the collection.
We just finished the most tedious task ever. Putting together my new coffee/end tables. Each leg had eight tiny screws that were in an awkward position to even get them started and then to tighten with an allen wrench but it’s done. I would not buy these same tables again due to the time it took to put them together.
The coffee table is a lot smaller than the one we had and will actually be perfect size for the space. But damn those screws.
I am tired enough not to wait 5 posts. But all went well and good. Things that we wanted to accomplish were, we learned what we need for this plan to work over the summer, and I had quite a few good chuckles. And while Community Thrift may miss some donations, our congregation is going to benefit from the cut we’re going to toss in the plate. So I consider everything to be very nice.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had brunch, and talked about fryin’ fish. Howzzat for an eventful day! Nappage has also been achieved. Looks like we need to plan on feedin’ fish to around ninety folks on Firday. That’s a lot of fish to fry! Plus hush puppies, fries, and slaw. All us cook folk shall be bzzy, but we have a plan. Course, we all know how plans go usually…
SecretScribe welcome! Mayhaps we shall call that a nickname in the works. Or we’ll call ya sump’n else. One never knows in the MMP! Feel free to jump in anytime. Once you make a post you become a Mumper.
Welcome TheMysteryWriter, or should we call you Agatha?
I’m supposed to be getting on with Skool irk today; plan is to spend the first week of my 2 week break getting both projects due in this month finished, then the second week I can relax a bit. Hah.
Went to a flower show, noodled around trying to organise a visit to the bee group by the stoodint society (we’ve been talking about it for months, now it’s finally getting warm enough to make it happen), and wrote about 50 words of a 2500 word assignment. Hmm.
I was going to suggest Hammett, for the creator of Sam Spade, Nick and Nora Charles, and the Continental Op, but either of the above is good. AndMystery Writer, come on back and be sure to tell us the most mudane and pointless stuff you’ve got. Your Sunday story was amusing…and at times alarming… Hope the feets feels better.
Was going to go out about an hour ago to do the first mow of the year, but it started to rain and I’m not one to let a good excuse go by, so back inside I came.
Nut, the first 50 words are the hardest…or was that the second fifty words…??
ruble, swampy, sounds like you accomplished things today; my congrats. FOr that matter, most of you sound like you were busy today; good for you, I took care of the sloth for us all.
Butters, glad you’re feeling better…just in time for the new work week…
Annual checkup tomorrow, expect to be told I have high blood pressure, am overweight, and need a Colonoscopy. Just ate a big bowl of salad and will try not to eat anything else before the exam.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes and the nicknames. You gave me a great idea for a new pen name. I wrote it out then got worried that someone who shouldn’t see it would see it and then my goose would be cooked. Although I’ve already given out identifying info but I’m worried about this one right now, not that one, so there you go. Dang it, now I’m worried about that one, too. Oh well, I just gotta write quickly until I’m too rich and famoose to care.
My feet are fine now. It’s just when they’re cold when it gets hot around 8 am they go back to normal. And I am now in a t-shirt and pajama shorts. And no hat, which is good cos my computer can’t recognize me when I wear a hat.
Laundry done, chicken salad made for my lunch tomorrow and now for a shower and soon beddy bye. I also have a regular Dr. appt in the morning and I suspect it shall be a fasting blood test day so I shan’t eat or drink after midnight tonight. I know I need some refills on meds while I am there. And with that my weekend is over. It was a pretty relaxing one all in all.
Happy New Week everyone!
Where’s Doggio? No doubt celebrating the Greatest Day!
Dinner is somewhat et, trash (& recycles) is mostly ready to go out in the moaning. (Too many critters to put out the night before.)
Apart from picking up the wisteria bits I cut back a couple of weeks back, I didn’t do much of anything today but crochet and watch TV. Late to the party, but I started watching The West Wingon Netflix. Looks like it was a pretty good show - I binged the first 5 episodes.
But now it’s beddy-bye time. See ya in the next round!!
I survived another Sinday. Go me! Wrote over six thousand planning words for my cozy in and during services, and now I’m about to eat a tasty hamberder with white bread and butter.
Y’all sure eat a lot of potatoes. I had cheesy chips for lunch and two cold wieners.
I moved the stuff around in my room last week and now Miss Patches has two bookcases and a dresser she can climb up and down on. She loves them and sleeps on them a lot when she is held captive indoors at night time. Right now she’s sleeping on her wee-towel mountain.
