I managed to sleep until almost 9, so I’m feeling pretty good.
It’s a partly cloudy 45 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 68.
Yard irk is on the agenda.
Get the last bit of tilling done, get up the big wet pile of leaves, and I think it may be safe now to spread the wild flower seeds.
I want to go to the park, but I know it will be crowded. Half of the big dog side is closed off so the grass can grow there, and most of the benches have yellow tape around them because the space in front of them has been bricked in. Yesterday, Ripple went under the fence and got into the closed off area. I had a hell of a time getting him back out, I had to threaten to leave without him, he couldn’t find another loose space in the fence to slip under it, so I had to find a loose space to lift up a little to let him out. It looks like the temporary fence is taller this time. The bigger dogs just jumped over the last one, which didn’t matter anyway since half of it had collapsed.
My phone did a software update and I am NOT happy with the new look. Whoever chose the colors must be color blind. The worst is the text messages. The other person’s is in a pale grey bubble, mine are in a ugly dark teal bubble, so dark the text is white. Very jarring on the eyes, as well as it makes the other person’s text fade into the background. It should be the other way around, their text should stand out.
There should be a way to change the colors, but I can’t find it for my model.
Finally a day off after an eight day stretch. I was fit to be tied yesterday. Could not brain and got super aggravated. Left irk early and am off til Moanday. The auditors are here next week I just found out yesterday so we had a staff mtg to go over what to expect and what to do to my new girls who haven’t experienced the auditors. I am not at all worried about the auditors. I run a pretty tight ship I believe.
My main right hand clerk is on a two week vacation so I must be there as my employees need a little support. We remain super busy. I have a budget due in two weeks and still have to write an after action on the Airshow. I should be down there now irking. But I am not gonna do it.
Hubby’s son and his family were down for a week and I hardly saw them. They left this morning and then tomorrow our friend that occasionally comes down is coming for a Dr appt. I am tired of company.
I have a lot of laundry. The maid does the sheets and towels and sometimes some of hubby’s clothes but I do all mine once a week. So there is a couple loads at least. I am gonna attemp some sort of chicken dish in my instant pot.
The dining room carpet is cleaned and I’ve got a fan aimed to help it dry. I’ve been out to the shop - it’s looking good out there! Once the inspectors come on Moanday, we can schedule the crew to finish the inside. The outside concrete is supposed to be poured Tues or Weds. Still waiting on the electrical inspection. We’re getting there slowly but surely.
I’ve started laundry, and I’m going to assume the knit position while the clothes are getting clean.
On the choo back, but im tired… Will someone wake me at my stop, please. Then i gotta get gas & head off for a flight, but i cant fly. Stoopit gubmint safety regulations. :o
Cash windfall today. I had loaned my sister a thousand bucks a couple years ago and truthfully did not expect to ever get it back and actually told her it was a gift and forget about it. She sent it back today with an extra hundred dollars. Hooray.
Chicken and rice turned out very good for a first try in the pressure cooker. I napped but haven’t yet started the laundry. I should get up and get that going. I need to load the dishwasher too and I have two new dining chairs and three new coffee/ end tables to put together though that will probably have to wait for hubby with tools.
Howdy Y’all! We had a great yahd irk day at the church house. A good crew showed up and worked hard from a little after eight until almost noon. The grounds are in great shape for Easter now. Came home after that, had a shower, a sammich, and then achieved nappage. We et a late N.O.L./early sup of sallit, steak and N.O.T. I’s tahrd but t was a good day.
wow its already 2:30 here and haven’t done much except wake up lol oh well 90 percent of life around here is just busy work anyways …. but one must be “useful” to have the right to exist im told ……
Day One of the flea-extravaganza went well and the car is packed for Day Two. The weather looks perfect and I bumped into many former coworkers so I expect tomorrow to be much fun as well.
We irked in the yard, got 4 more bags of leaves and sticks. How a small yard can generate so much waste?
Ripple was tired from the park and mostly left us alone to get the irk done.
I’m getting ready to start tacos for my son, and I will be having left over pork roast.
Then back to irk for a couple of hours.
you know I know parents like to go out occasionally but when you hardly see your kid during the week because you have odd working hours and you work Saturdays so he spends the night at grandmas because he always has and you go out on the one night of the week its not a school night that you don’t work then you lose the right to complain when 1 you never see your kid and 2 your kid doesn’t care whether you’re there or not ……
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark, actually) with fog with a predicted high of 87 cloudy and a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. Today we shall deheathenate (I am a non-cannibal type of Lector), followed by first Sunday brunch. I made a chikin, rice and green bean casserole that’s always good and a hit along with a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. After that, there will be a meetin’ of the group headin’ up this comin’ Firday’s fish fry. This afternoon shall be devoted to sloth.
Shades some folks have problems with priorities.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. I must also bake the casserole.
On the soccer fields from 8am-4:40pm and it was hotter than expected (77F) and too much sun. Got home and pretty much collapsed. Then a passing thunderstorm came through about 5am and woke me up and I never really got back to sleep, so my awareness (and coherence) are limited.
And now it’s supposed to rain today, tonight, and tomorrow. Oh joy.

Ripple is bringing me his toys one by one in exchange for a squirt of cheese. I wonder how hard it would be to teach him to put his toys back into his basket.
Doggio, if Ripple ever ignored the pizza, or any, delivery person, I would be checking him for a pulse.
I need to do some laundry today. You have to wash clothes a lot more often after you give most of them away.
We’ll be putting the seeds out today. Then we need to do some irk in the front yard.
I still haven’t finished my taxes, I suppose I should work on them today.
Blurfage. Up and walked the dog. Eating a leftover hamburger. I still have a load of laundry to do but only one. It’s my shirts and I need to grab em out of the dryer as soon as they dry lest they get all wrinkled. We will have a house guest later today. I’m not thrilled about this but it’s hubbies house too.
I slept very good last night and am actually starting to feel normal for the first time in 10 days.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to laze around some more before Sunday chores begin. There will likely be a trip to the dog park today and I’ll work on the heathen children’s craft this afternoon. Chicken fatteh, rice and Mediterranean cucumber salad for supper.
