Holy shit !!! You have plans for tonight or what?
I think I’d pay to see that too, Cartooniverse. Damn.
President’s Choice
Crackle Ice Cream.
There is nothing better, I maintain. It’s rich vanilla ice cream with crackle chocolate strips in it.
Almost too good.
Dammit, Al, you’re making me sound bad!

Hey! How YOU doin’?

Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food…No Contest
Graeter’s Ice Cream here in town makes the best ice cream ever. All of it. Any flavor. (Well, except mint. I hate mint.) And they have a special flavor every month. Hand packed, French Pot, super delicious, ice cream goodness.
My personal fave is Black Raspberry Chip. And the “chip” is totally misleading. These aren’t “chips”. Or “chunks”. These are SLABS of chocolate in purple dairy goodness.
Monstre and Davidbw1, another vote for Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food here.
mmmmm… ice cream.
Ginger - I am going to have to get myself over to the local IGA and try some of that, I normally prefer your basic vanilla with natural crunchy peanut butter added. Getting it premade sounds good to me.
If you ever get the chance stop by the creamery in L.A. That would be Lacombe, Alberta. They make great ice cream and have really good soft serve as well. Just be prepared to wait a little as the lineups can be a little lengthy at times.
I’ll admit it, I’m proud of Ben and Jerry’s. My current favorites are Kaberry Kaboom (blueberry and raspberry ice cream swirled together with chocolate covered pop rocks), Apple Crunch or something similar (I love ice cream that tastes like other desserts), and Ooey Gooey Cake (carmel frozen yogert with rum soaked pieces of pound cake and a caramel swirl).
Hey, Ben and Jerry’s isn’t just an ice cream in Vermont, it’s a way of life. Especially when you know people who work there. They get three pints a shift, and that means SHARING!!!
Been there, many times. My sis lives in Red Deer.
There’s also this great place on Ross Street in Red Deer. Up the hill from downtown, soooo good…!
Wow, I never knew Canada had such good ice cream.
Maybe none of our Texans have logged in yet, but I’ll nominate my personal favorite: Blue Bell Banana Pudding. It’s amazing. Used to only be available in Texas (and not even all of Texas, but I can get it in Austin where my grandfather lives).
Mmmmmmmmmmmm, that’s GOOD eatin’.
Now, in New York, I’ve become partial to a Boston import, Emack & Bolio. Haven’t developed a favorite flavor cause (snap!) it’s all good, yaknowwhat I mean?
I’m making you look bad, Betty? I don’t think so. You’re doing a fine job all by yourself.
**Swiddles:{/b] I have yet to find that Kaberry Kaboom around here. I want some soooooo baaaaaaad that it’s almost become my Personal Holy Grail. Oy vey.
Rats. Cleanup on aisle 5, Euty!
Yeah I know about Tillamook Oregon, I was leaving my house yesterday for a road trip as a Tillamook cheese truck drove by with OREGON right on the side and I wanted to turn back and correct my mistake but I was already running late.
So much for your ‘nyah nyah’ about finding good ice cream around your area.
Oh…My…Goddess…
I have FOUND the MIRACLE that is Kaberry Kaboom. Oh. It is unreal. I cannot believe this stuff. The pint is sitting hre, open, on my computer table, and I’m typing one handed while I eat…nay, experience it. Stuff is so good, I’m tempted to pitch the spoon and start shoveling it down bare-handed. Then I think I might just smear it all over myself and roll around a bit, just so my entire body can share the joy that my tongue is living.
Whoooooooooooo buddy. I am one happy little camper.
Oh. My. God.
Al, I’m doin’ the same thing.
Oreo cookies n’ cream.
There’s some Smarties ice cream in the freezer I’m thinking of digging into.
The best ice cream in my world, I USED to get a Baskin-Robbins. I haven’t seen any in years. German Chocolate Cake. It was mellow chocolate ice cream, with caramel swirls, walnuts, coconut, and chewy chocolate brownies in it. I miss it SO badly. My stomach is growling now.
I love Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla, it tastes like homemade ice cream, mmmmmmmm. We used to eat it like pigs when we would visit TX, but now we can get it here. mmmmmmm… sprinkle a few walnuts on top… mmmmmmm…
Breyers Vanilla is also great, and a box of Breyers Neopolitan, wrapped in a dish towel on your lap, as you watch tv and have bits of each flavor is divine.
Blue Bell Caramel Pecan Crunch is fabulous. Swirls of caramel and fudge, and many, many pecans.
Dammit, gotta head to the freezer. To hell with not waddling.
Any San Francisco ice cream afficionados here?
While most San Franciscans would probably claim Double Rainbow as their best local brand, there was once an unbelievable ice cream store.
I don’t remember the name - it was something Italian. And I don’t remember exactly where it was – I think in the Cannery, or at least somewhere in the Fisherman’s Wharf area.
It was amazing ice cream - it tasted like what ever the flavor was. If you got peach - it tasted like a peach. If you got vanilla - it tasted like vanilla beans. No fancy combinations of flavors, but simply perfect ice cream.
It was also very expensive. This was in the 80’s, and I think it was something like $3.50 for one scoop. That’s probably why it didn’t last very long.
Anyone remember the place?
Also, there was a crazy ice cream store called Polly Ann’s - in the Sunset District. They had the strangest flavors you could imagine - the regular ones, and vegetable flavors, and any other kind of food flavors.
