Best for you: Dreyers Chocolate Fudge. No fat. No ice. 100 calories per serving. Not one of yours can get near 100 calories per serving. nyah.
Actually, aside from ColdStone (and homemade, have to admit, there’s nothing like it - but I think that’s mostly a matter of the amount of energy my sister and I used to spend making it…
) I’m particularly fond of Garlic Ice Cream.
I miss living near Gilroy.
For those nearby Santa Cruz, CA at all, you should definitely check out Marianne’s Ice Cream on Ocean St. Ooooh, it is so good, made right there at their little factory. And it’s not health food! (Kind of unusual in Santa Cruz…)
Oh god YES!!!
When I lived in Cincinnati, there was a Graeter’s (with a drive thru) right down the street. My favorite was Coconut chocolate chip, which was only made as the February flavor of the month.
The first year I lived there, the ran out around Feb. 20th. ARGHHHH!!! The next year I planned ahead. I bought 6 pints as soon as it came out, went and got a cone just about every other day. I must have gained five pounds in the 3 weeks it was available.
The stuff is heavenly! Thanks for the link…I wonder if they’ll ship to CA?
Ugh, $70 for six pints shipped to CA.
BUT coconut chip is still January’s Flavor of the Month!!! Wahooo!!
Why does ice cream cost so much? Its like $3.50 a scoop of B&Js here.
I’m not sure where you live, but someone is robbing you.
Scoops are just over a buck last time I was at B&J, and I can get a pint for $3.50 at the store.
Blue Bell.
Although Ben and Jerry’s is OK.
Haagen Daaz is my favorite ice cream
mmmmmmmm, i just had some too
Cherry Garcia, either LFFY or regular. My Mom used to work in Savon in Gardena, they were competeing with Thriftys, bigger scoops, 5cents, and it was top of the line Carnation. YUmm.
And I am sorry, but those totally bogus Breyers ads, with that so-sweet-don’t-you-just-want-to-lock-her-in-a-freezer- with-the-pepsi-girl little lisping girl trying to pronounce “carragean”. Sure, some of their flavors have “no artificial ingrediants” (atho guar gum & carragean are perfectly natural), but many others are full of artifial flavors & colours.
B&J Phish Food, Godiva’s Belgian Chocolate Truffle
Ben and Jerry’s - Wavy Gravy
Haagen Daas - Coffee
31 Flavors - Pumpkin
Spumoni
Parkway Grill - Banana
and most any of the Fossleman’s Ice Cream (a South Pasadena original) flavors
Gelato and fine Shaved Ice are great, but I put them both in a separate category.
It’s cheaper by the dozen, Sue. Go on, you KNOW you want it!
And eat some for me. I’m not goin’ near that stuff. I gained five pounds in one week eating at Graeter’s. That stuff is LETHAL.
