The best of enemies poll

Dem, I like McCain and would at least consider voting Republican if he won the GOP nomination, which is more then I can say for the rest of the Repub field.

I’m a registered Democrat who has voted for Libertarians every time I’ve been able to vote. If that makes me a Libertarian, then I’d have to pick Barack Obama (D). If it makes me a Democrat, then I would probably take Ron Paul.

Giuliani is like Bush without the charming folksiness, the dedication to the rule of law, and the respect for the civil liberties of the populace.

Romney is like Clinton, only he’s not married to a masterful statesman and he’s less graceful about taking both sides of every issue.

Bush? Dedication to the rule of law? Respect for civil liberties? You’re kidding, right?

Reminder-this is not a debate.

Democrat here… I’d go for Giuliani, even though I dislike his moral ethics. I don’t hate his politics, too much.

Liberal-leaning non-voting immigrant here.

Guiliani or McCain.

I’m baffled by this too. He’s about the biggest Iraq hawk in the race and generally pretty clueless (in a scary way) about foreign policy. He’d be a disaster.

I also don’t understand the respect for McCain.

I’d guess I’d have to go with Ron Paul. But it’s pretty frightening when he’s the least scary candidate. Guy is nuts.

But we can ask for clarification,no?

I’d rather people stuck to actually answering the poll for themselves.

May third parties participate? Or is this business as usual in the political arena.

What is the political opposite of your party? If there is one, pick a candidate from that group.

I would say that the Republicans are my opposite on social issues, and so from them I would pick Ron Paul as the one I dislike least.

I would say that the Democrats are my opposite on financial issues, and so from them I would pick Dennis Kucinich as the one I dislike least.

I think, just to keep this poll manageable, we’ll limit it to Republicans and Democrats. Multiple choices based on different issues would make this useless as a poll, I think.
Sorry.

Liberal independent here…I usually end up voting for Democrats. I actually like McCain quite a bit, I would not hate it at all if he ended up president. Although I don’t agree with a lot of his politics, he strikes me as a person of integrity.

I wasn’t debating his response to the question in the OP.

Not American but conservative:

I’d wish for Obama.

Generally left leaning. I would like to see Ron Paul in office, not because I think he’d be a good President (I don’t), but because he would be the most entertaining.

You say that as if you think the voters don’t like idiots.
Tris

I’m liberal, not a Democrat, but I’ve voting Democrat this election.

The Pub I have the most respect for is McCain. I think he’s a fundamentally decent person and not a complete nut. I don’t feel that I can say both of those things about any other Republican candidate this time.
