That was a bit Meta. Sam Kass complained on his webpage that his variant was used without attribution. They brought it up again in order to include the vet-the-top fawning namecheck.
It’s funny because even people who play RPSLS at home generally have no idea who the hell Sam Kass is, and invoking his name (even without the hyperbolic praise) is not something that anyone would ever do.

If Amy acted more neurotypical, that would make it worse, since at least as it stands, she has the excuse of being unable to read people properly…
As to her being hotter…no, it wouldn’t, at least for me. At the most there would be a bit more conflict if it made me more likely to 'ship them, but since I started doing so in the ‘bi-curious Amy’ phase, and this whole thing has pretty much crushed that…
Maybe it’s the decades I spent pursuing nerdy girls with limited consciousness of their own attractiveness, but it seems to me that Amy is pretty damned hot.
The unfortunate glasses, the frumpy clothes, and the awkwardness… these are all trappings that have practically no in the sack. Mentally subtract all that and what’s left is a smokin’ hot girl - and there’s no heat like stealth heat.
