The Big Bang Theory 2/23--The Werewolf Transformation

That’s why I said “maybe.”

Exactly. Sheldon doesn’t respect Howard because he applies pure science to the real world…he doesn’t do theory, so he’s not doing “real” science. Well, that and he doesn’t have a doctorate. No great engineering feat, even if it saved the Earth, would change that.

he already covered up for the Mars Rover incident.

though if he does go on a mission i’ll bet they’ll do a parade scene with his mother with him in the car.

If they did that, I’d hope he’d be in the car and his mother screaming from the crowd as the car passes. Mrs. Wolowitz is a Vera/Maris/Carlton character…she should never be seen. It would destroy the magic. Especially since Carol Ann Susi, who provides the voice, doesn’t really come close to looking like Mrs. Wolowitz looks in my mind.

very good point.

“Howahd! Siddown on da seat! You’ll fall out and kill yaself!”
ETA: Goddamit! Who thought a “make all-caps into mixed-case” feature was a good idea?! How do I circumvent that damn thing?

It’s interesting to compare Sheldon’s running-with-scissors to Niles Crane’s in the Valentine’s Day episode of Frasier, and how Frasier himself had a running with scissors moment of madness in an episode of Cheers.

I’m also happy to see that Vernee Watson’s nurse character has now officially joined the ranks of “employee you always run into no matter where you are in a giant facility.”

And judging from what we heard, she can sing, too.

I liked it - it’s sort of a wild mane of hair.

Like in the best scene from “Frasier,” that had Niles noticing a slightly uneven crease in his pants and ending up practically in the emergency room, all without saying a word.

ETA: Dammit, scooped on preview!

You need one lower case character in the post - a lowercase ell for an uppercase ‘i’, for example.

I was wondering if the writers remembered the episode of “Married With Children” where Al’s barber died.

That was a good one. I still remember the pan down the line of “No Ma’am” members, each looking more Fabio than the next.

Sheldon couldn’t have been going to his barber for that long, or the barber convinced him to change styles, because his hair this season has been different than it was in the past.

I loved this episode! Both Sheldon and Howard had me in hysterics!

I hope the Howard does manage to get through training, somehow, though if he does, it will be a miracle.

I thought that the episode was fairly average, but the ending caught me by surprise and gave me a good laugh. The subplot with Howard and astronaut training was quite predictable but still funny.

I wish they would have gotten more play out of Sheldon’s mother lying to him about the ‘haircut records’. I don’t know how they would have, but I thought that was a funny bit of the show.

I was expecting Leonard to call Sheldon’s mom to confirm that there were no “haircut records.” Sheldon’s half of that conversation would have been hysterical.

Or that Penny got Sheldon’s haircut records from Sheldon’s barbershop.

Oddly enough, my hairdresser does keep her own “haircut records” - and not just for the hair colour (which I change once in a while). It seems to be some sort of shorthand on a small card that helps her remember what she did last time, to discuss if I want to make any changes. I don’t know if other hairdressers do this, though, and I can’t imagine that it would be any use to anyone else, though.

I thought Sheldon’s “hill people” line about Penny’s advice was out of character considering Sheldon’s own background.

While I agree with your observation Sampiro, I don’t think it’s the first time Sheldon has made a comment like that about Penny.

When I go to my (chain/franchise type) hair place, they pull up my account by my phone number and ask if I’m doing the same thing. They’ve got it all written down in the computer. I’m sure I could go to any location and get the same haircut without much trouble. That did kind of bother me since there are haircut records. OTOH, I think Sheldon wanted to believe that Mr D’onofrio had some sort of a notebook with an account of every single time Sheldon had ever had his hair cut that detailed what was done, how much was taken off, any styling changes, which scissors where used etc etc etc and without that guide it wasn’t possible to cut his hair correctly.

Haircut records are not uncommon in salons, especially if you color or process your hair. A barber? Nah.
