The Big Bang Theory, May 8, 2014 -- "The Gorilla Dissolution"

Yep. you’re right. I owe you a Modelo.

Maybe Raj will be at risk of deportation again if Sheldon quits and he convinces the lady he was making out with to marry him in order to stay in the country?

Classic sitcom/movie device; however, not really all that based on reality. Those pesky laws conflict with a good story.

Yes sir. Which is why it’s right up BBT’s alley. Because why be inventive when you can rehash an old sitcom trope?

Was I the only person to watch the “coming attractions” at the end of the episode? It clearly shows that Leonard has asked Sheldon to move into Penny’s apartment so that they can have the bigger one to themselves.

Almost certainly the “big move” Sheldon is considering.

When Howard and Raj were moving the big box up the stairs (apparently the writers wanted to re-use material from the second episode of the series), you can see some pictures and artwork on the wall behind the stairs. At least two of the photos were seen hanging outside the Wolowitz bathroom door in season 4’s The Engagement Reaction. It is too common in TV shows for such decorative items in secondary sets to move around.

Wheaton is a terrible actor. B-movies are a bit fit than hit TV shows.

Rehashing old sitcom tropes has made BBT the most successful show on TV today.

Are we to expect he got some kind of Magic VISA? I hope someone got fired for that blunder.

I was out of town and watched the last two episodes back-to-back, or I never would have noticed this: Last week’s episode (Star Wars Day, Bob Newhart) was episode 22, and this week’s episode was episode 24. WTF happened to episode 23?

Well actually it was a “░egro Modelo”

Wikipedia has the Gorilla episode as 23, with next week’s as 24. Sometimes the onscreen guide/DVR gets the numbers wrong, I think.

wizard did it.

Wheaton played a prick in Eureka, too.

If I remember right he has a work VISA and can stay in the country while working for the university.

Doing some Googling, he probably has a US H1-B Visa. According to this Site the max someone can stay is six years.

The show’s been on for seven years, and I think Raj was supposed to be around before the start of the show, so yeah, he’s way overstayed his VISA.

Yes, but this was the first time with a ring and an acceptance, I believe. It wasn’t an unexpected swerve, as they’ve been telegraphing it all season, but it is ridiculous for any show to give away an episode’s ending like that

Very nice analogy Oakminster, but no one has commented on your reference to “jumping the shark” on Happy Days. Does anyone think this is the beginning of the end?

I thought the beginning of the end was when Sheldon took Penny’s advice and “broke up” with String Theory.

Probably a lot of confirmation bias, but I think there is a reference to Jumping the Shark in every TBBT episode thread.

I cannot believe there are this many people still watching TBBT after seeing the criticisms week after week after week.

Good point, I agree.

I can’t believe people are still watching the show and bitching about it. If it so offends you, shut it the fuck off. The rest of us will keep enjoying the show.

No kidding. It’s not like we’re talking about chili with beans, or something.

Am I right?!!?
