I’m starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
I for one was hugely disappointed that they didn’t follow the Bernadette storyline.
HUGELY disappointed, I tell ya!
double that disappointment.
That first scene, with the girls, didn’t anyone else get get the a strange feeling from that one? Maybe I just wasn’t paying close enough attention, but it was almost like a high school play with a bunch of terrible actresses. My only guess is that they had to get the BBT stuff done on his schedule and didn’t have enough time to fully rehearse that scene, but even if that was the case, that whole scene seemed really rough.
Billy Bob is hilarious.
Funniest episode of the current season. And dang…what a nerd cave Dr. whatshisname had. If you have to be locked in the basement of a creepy dude, that’s about as good as it gets.
Still hate Penny’s hair, though.
So I was able to identify all (I think) of the person-sized or larger items, but I couldn’t remember where the purple helmet came from. It looked familiar but I couldn’t place it. Anyone?
I thought this was a little funnier than some of the earlier episodes this season, I think I actually had one good laugh, but an awful lot of it felt like it was phoned in. The writing too.
One mississippi, two mississippi. Really?
Wasn’t that Magneto’s helmet?
And up until I viciously attacked you, you were in the wrong!
If it’s any comfort, I believe Melissa Rauch was photographed for Maxim.
That was a call back to The Monopolar Expedition, season 2 episode 23, where the guys were going to the magnetic North Pole for a couple of months and Penny hugged Leonard goodbye and Leonard was confused because she gave him a FIVE mississippi hug, not her normal two mississippi hug. To his face, Penny said it was just a hug, but out of his hearing, she said it meant she didn’t want him to go away for that long.
I thought it was a pretty good episode. A little bit of backbiting between the girls and nerdvana for the guys. Penny didn’t get her nose broken with a purse full of change, but you can’t have everything.
That basement immediately made me think of Forrey Ackerman’s place. The attic of Sci-Fi.
Yep. I was surprised that they did not throw in an Angelina Jolie joke somewhere.
Yeah, that would have been fun to see.
Oh, good call! I would have loved to have seen that! R.I.P. Forrey!
I thought it doubtful the guys would stand around and cheer Leonard on Donkey Kong when they had so many other things to do there. Boy when Bernadette wants to stick the knife in she really goes for the jugular. That was a little too mean for my taste.
My DVR killed the last minute or so - can anyone recap the last bit for me?
I found this episode a lot more enjoyable than the previous ones, simply because, for the most part, everyone was nice with each other. It was good to have an episode that didn’t center around the main characters acting like terrible people (aside from the beginning).
The good doctor repentantly took the girls back to his basement to free the nerds; and they found Leonard playing Donkey Kong, surrounded as said above by his cheering posse. They were too in thrall to the Donkey to care about leaving, so the doctor took the girls off to see a prostate sonogram.
A funny episode, due in large part to Billy Bob’s performance.
I wonder if all those movie props in his basement were the real items, assembled for TBBT?
