No parents, but there was an appearance by Raj’s Brobdingnagian desk.
Some families really do thrive on that conflict dynamic though. There was one such down the street from me as a kid; there were times I stopped playing and left their house for fear that serious injuries were in the offing. I have to say that today they are the closest siblings I know. They still fight snipe verbally with each other.
“You just keep talking, I’m gonna chew my leg off.” :D:D
Oofa, that barrette did Penny’s old-lady haircut no favors in the opening scene.
That quote annoys me. They’re both named Josh.
“Josh came in, but Josh got the part, and I really wanted Josh on the show.”
Wow, all the ssturm und drang over Penny’s hair. I love it! I think she looks so much prettier this year. Last year she had a really hard, angry look about her, now she comes across to me like a mature version of the original Penny.
An okay episode dragged down by two things:
- Leonard snores? Since when? Penny snores, not Leonard.
Season 3, episode 14, The Einstein Approximation.
"Sheldon: … Oh, by the way, I was watching you sleep for a moment, and I noticed that your snoring seems to be worse when you’re on your back.
Penny: Leonard doesn’t snore.
Sheldon: No, I wasn’t talking to Leonard.
Leonard: Told you."
It also isn’t a recent development. Sheldon says it bothered him for the first 5 or 6 years but he’s gotten used to it. So it definitely predates the earlier episode.
Writers and continuity. There oughta be a law.
- Sheldon smacking his nose and having a bandage. C’mon. What a crappy sitcom bit. I expect better from this show.
Best little gag: the running bit about Howard and couple’s therapy.
I know it’s been done. But that is the ugliest woman’s hairstyle ever.
Re: Molina. He is still on Thursday nights as a regular on ABC’s Scandal. He’s on the competition now. He apparently got that job after being one Grey’s Anatomy once. (A lot of such folk turn up on other Shondaland productions.) Thursday is his night.
I caught 10 minutes of that show. She’ll be back. L
And since they are on the same network, even if the show does go on, I could still see the occasional Mary Cooper visit.
Laura Spencer, the actress who plays Raj’s girlfriend Emily also does guest spots on “Bones” on Fox, so I can’t imagine Laurie Metcalf doing guest spots on TBBT being a big deal, especially on the same network.
The only thing I could see making it a problem would be garden-variety timing issues.
Which can be solved by having the character Skype. They’ve done it before with Sheldon’s mom, when Baranski’s schedule prevented her from filming with the cast.
Leonard’s mom is played by Christine Baranski, Sheldon’s mom is played by Laurie Metcalf.
Oops. Thought one, typed the other.
I can’t really imagine Mary Cooper figuring out how to skype. I don’t know that she owns a computer. But even with her having her own series, I can see her in a recurring role 2-3 times a season. And unless Sheldon has another major breakdown, Mary is probably very occupied being a grandmother.
If my mother can learn how to Skype, Sheldon’s mom should be able to as well.
A grandmother to who? Did one of her other kids who are ‘dumb as soup’ have a child I didn’t hear about?
Sheldon’s twin sister gave birth last season. Traumatized Sheldon no end, it did.
Oh, yeah. I remember that one. The gang kept calling him or Skyping with him or something.
Laurie Metcalf is also on another crappy TV show: HBO’s Getting On. Just started its second season. I have no idea how that got renewed.
Another continuity break on Leonard snoring: Series 6 Episode 08, The 43 Peculiarity.
Sheldon: I’m not saying you don’t have attractive qualities. Your choice of friends is impeccable, you’re a good sleeper, and last but not least, you buy the grapes I like. You’re a real catch compared to some snoring guy with a fridge full of lousy grapes.
This was just two seasons ago. Good grief.
Sheldon’s mom played Leonard’s lover in Norm earlier.
Different names, though.
