I was actually more interested in the Howard storyline than in the Penny/Leonard thing.
The fat guy was Sheldon’s father, not Leonard’s.
Better than average episode for this season. The use of guest stars was a big help there.
Setting up Sheldon’s mom and Leonard’s dad was a great move. Spin off?
Don’t really see him starting a brand new sitcom. Judd Hirsch just turned 81. Looking pretty good though!
Don’t even. Lilith Sternin-Crane was hot.
au contraire
I was struck by this as well.
Amy: “Play with your phone.”
Nu uh!
Wait, this is the Argument Center, right?
It didn’t seem to have the weight a season finale usually has.
I liked the episode. I never would have pictured Judd Hirsch as Leonard’s father, but Hirsch made it work.
Sheldon also has a brother who is supposed to be a redneck and former high school jock. I’ve thought Larry the Cable Guy would be a good 'un. (I can’t usually stand LtCG, but he might be good in this.)
Or Channing Tatum.
Larry the Cable Guy is 53 years old. I think that makes him pretty long in the tooth to be Sheldon’s brother and have Laurie Metcalf for a mother.
It’s true that having Larry the Cable Guy (53 years old) be the son of Laurie Metcalf (60 years old) wouldn’t make much sense, but then there is already something that’s quite weird. Christine Baranski and Judd Hirsch are too tall to plausibly be Johnny Galecki’s parents. They are 5’10’ and 6’ tall, respectively. Galecki is 5’5". The son of a 5’10" woman and a 6’ man would be 6’1.7" on average. Yeah, it’s possible for someone to be a fair amount off the most likely height, but it’s not common. My mother is 4’10" and my father was 5’5", so I would be expected to be 5’4.2" tall, while I’m actually 4’11". Thus I’m 5.2" less than the average height for a son of them, which is already rather uncommon. Galecki is 8.7" less than the most likely height for a son of Baranski and Hirsch, which is just pushing the limits of probability too much.
