The Big Bang Theory, Season 9, Episode 3 (October 5, 2015) -- "The Bachelor Party Corrosion"

I’ll have to watch this episode more closely the next time I see it. The shots of the van on fire were static; just have the special effects guys superimpose some flames in the right spots and you’ve got it. But they actually showed Howard hanging from the signpost. If that really does have enough torque to twist a lug it makes me wonder how the props department managed to rig it to not work.

Looked to me like a mockup with some gas burners placed behind it. Those flames were really shooting out the windows!

Me too. They could have had the guys get there this episode and then showed them having hijinks at the villa next episode.

This is supposedly the real place.

They could have had all kinds of hijinks like trying to get Sheldon to go in the ocean or finding an old stash of Feynmans and sitting around the beach campfire getting enlightened.

What a waste.

Also the obligatory mention of a donkey when Penny mentioned her dead pig.

You never see a different angle on the lever. They probably attached the lever at several locations that we couldn’t see because of the static camera. From our angle the lever is- I - but a top view would look like- F -.

So much so, that I expected them to throw us a curve and have more frantic “science” trying to figure out how to put out the incipient fire before it burns up Feynman’s van.

Just seeing the van burn up was kind of a letdown.

Hell, I would have much preferred seeing the wildness Sheldon could get up to in a Mexican bar.

However, apparently this week’s budget all went up on Feynman’s van.

Truth is, aside from the standard sets the show inhabits (several apartments, the laundry room, the hallway, the lobby, the faculty lounge at the university, and Stuart’s comic shop) how often do they ever go anywhere ELSE?

Yes, yes, I know they do, but not often. And it’s cheaper to have them standing in a wilderness set, with or without Next Generation uniforms…

They just don’t do very well on road trips. Also, it might be worth noting they’re compressing time this season. As of this most recent episode, Leonard and Penny have been married a week. Last season’s finale and this season’s first 3 episodes happened in that week. And taking that into account, Sheldon still has some pining to do over Amy.

Someone has to decide, “Lenny” or “Penard”?

Penard is funnier. Not as funny as Shamy, mind, but funnier than Lenny.

Oh, man. It just occurred to me that Leonard’s mother is now Penny’s mother in law.

Flee. Flee screaming.

Nah. They get along quite well. Penny introduced her to tequila shots, remember?

“Leonard, why didn’t you tell me you were tapping my home girl?”

Yeah, I thought that too.
This epi actually had some funny moments, not like last weeks, which was cringe-worthy.

Just had a thought about this. One of the reasons Leonard can’t officially move is because Sheldon is incapable of taking care of himself. He needs a chauffeur and constant supervision.

Perhaps they’ll contrive a way for Amy to move in with Sheldon.

I guess it’s just you and me against the world, GuanoLad

He also needs a place to store all of his collectables. I wonder how much of the stuff accumulated in that apartment over the last 10–12 years is his?

We should start our own thread. With blackjack, and hookers.

It would have been nice if they’d gotten to Mexico, and Sheldon reference the trip he made to Tijuana with James Earl Jones.

Ay-yi-yi.

That’s why they didn’t have an adventure at the border - Sheldon knew the drill.

Just sleep at Penny’s, store stuff at Sheldon’s. They all hang out at Sheldon’s anyway, Sheldon doesn’t need Leonard’s rent so he doesn’t need a roommate. Now if L&P move out of the building it might be tough for Shelly.

Raj could move in with Shelly.
