I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
Admit it, you’re going to miss doing this when the show is over.
Oh yes, I certainly will! Don’t care ta think about it, right now. When the time comes, I will deal with it, or at least pretend to. [Suppresses a shudder…]
I missed part of it because Ivylad called me into the other room to watch a sea otter escape from an orca by jumping into a passing boat.
I loved Leonard and Amy’s experiments and the look they gave Penny when she said something something string theory more than four dimensions in a sheet. Some sciency typ want to 'splain it to me?
The sequence with Penny helping Sheldon solve string theory was one of their best bits ever. It’s the kind of thing the show was built on.
I agree. It takes us back to the funny juxtaposition between high science and blue collar incomprehension.
A lot of the rest of the stuff in this episode didn’t interest me. But I did like seeing Raj’s place over Bert’s garage - and I liked Bert’s song, too.
I actually liked this one. Just the right amount of Bernadette and Howard (very little), Sheldon and Penny interaction (“When you do it, it’s just annoying!”), the actual “Do stuff with Stuff” scientists trading Science Fair stories. Very well balanced.
My science classes were never that cool. In fact, I can’t think of one experiment we did in school after growing lima beans in water. Also, for the life of me, I could not understand the punchline chorus of the song even though they repeated it several times (probably so it was clear they weren’t saying ‘6 tons of granite and I am the shit’). Bicasious schyz?
- 'Cause I’m six tons of granite And micaceous schist Yeah, I’m six tons of granite And micaceous schist*
Thank you!
Off to look up “micaceous”.
Of, pertaining to, consisting of, containing or resembling mica.
They wasted Laurie Metcalf though.
I got a real kick out of the Penny/Sheldon story, and I thought Leonard/Amy was pretty funny also. I’ve always thought Penny and Sheldon should have been a couple - they seem to have a really nice chemistry.
Sort of tangentially off-topic. Do you think Zoe Perry naturally sounds exactly like her mother or is she “doing” her mother’s voice?
Here she is in an interview with her father. She starts dominating the conversation about 3 minutes in. There’s a strong natural similarity between her and Laurie Metcalf, but Zoe has to put something more into her normal voice.
Ah, she sounds very much like her mother but lays on the Mary Cooper southern accent.
Yeah, Sheldon and Penny would work, especially since the character is strikingly similar to his mother in many ways. You don’t even need to feel bad for Amy since she has more chemistry with Howard and Leonard, anyway.
I thought they belonged together nearly from the beginning. Penny and Sheldon provide the real entertainment on the show.
and in a couple months, Leonard will be married to Leslie Winkle
Yeah. Scenes with them interacting always hold my attention.
Loved the Popsicle stick experiment.
Me neither. But I quickly turned on closed captioning and got one of the repeats.
