This…is brilliant.
My take was that possibly they had set up the tableau precisely for Leonard to witness it.
She did tend to see Leonard’s existence as an opportunity to conduct an experiment.
Did she? ![]()
Given the context of my original remark, I’d have to assume that she was *easy *but not homely. :dubious:
I hope the guys aren’t big fans of Goldfinger.
In the sense of … fundamental flaws? ![]()
In the sense of “the hero is pointless to the plot.”
Oh, yeah … Bond didn’t disarm the bomb himself, did he? ![]()
But he did get Pussy to warn Washington about the plot, didn’t he? :dubious:
It would have been better if Sheldon already had a response ready for “How did Indy travel with the submarine?” which he fired off casually in anticipation, before getting floored by "“Indy didn’t do anything.”
It just dawned on me that I’m doing exactly what Amy did in the show, so I’m going to spoiler this. If you view it, do not blame me for ruining Goldfinger for you.
Bond got both Masterson sisters killed, got himself captured, botched the chance to send a message to Leiter, had a roll in the hay (literally) with Pussy G., didn’t disarm the bomb, let Goldfinger escape, and Goldfinger gets the drop on him again in the airplane, which then crashes. That’s not a good track record.
Yes, through sheer studliness he managed to get a confirmed lesbian to turn against her boss, although if he’d done his job properly they’d have already nabbed Goldfinger for smuggling (or figured out his larger plot because of the Chinese agent Bond saw with him). Bond did kill Oddjob, but the Army would have shown up with guns in a few seconds, anyway.
All that is true, but he still came out on top, didn’t he? ![]()
The bit about the message to Leitner is a little unfair. He had no way of knowing that Mafioso was on a one-way trip to the salvage yard, did he?
Incidentally, from the Bond books that I’ve read, him fucking up in one life-threatening way or another was something that happened regularly:
In OHMSS, f’r instance, he blows his cover almost immediately and barely manages to escape down the mountain. George Lazenby’s double on skis, he ain’t!
My favorite SW quote (and indication of things to come) was in a Minneapolis newspaper’s review of RotJ when it first came out: “Being a Jedi knight seems to be about as important as being a good surfer.”
No, the new Nazis would open the Ark and die too. Pretty soon, the secret base would be full of dead Nazis whose last thought was “Why the fuck does Hitler want a Jewish artifact anyway?!?” ![]()
It’s possible. I’m happy with the result either way.
Penny in the Lingerie was amazing but let’s not forget Penny in the Extremely Tight Jeans in the opening scene.
No I’m not proud of this post.
P.S. I also thought Amy was going to bring up the Submarine thing.
I’m convinced those weren’t pants, but paint.
Right; which means Indy’s intervention managed to save the lives of countless Nazis enabling them to go on and serve their Führer in the upcoming war.
Well a lot of good posts. Its good to hear some good opinions instead of reading the usual…Crud.
See? Indy was not pointless to the story after all! ![]()
Can you spell “camel toe,” boys and girls? I knew you could! ![]()
