Not really. Back in the day it was common to wait several minutes for a thread to open or a reply to go through during peak usage. Now, after the Reader has generously upgraded the server a bit, I rarely have to wait more than 30 seconds, even during Lunch. Late at night it’s damn quick.
See if you have stayed off the board instead of joining to bitch about how slow it is, since it’s evident you just joined, it would be faster for the rest of us, eh?
