I was just thinking, and I think being told to write meaningful thread titles has stuck. Because ever since, my thread titles have been crap. Other dopers create witty newspaper pun type titles or plays on words, or their title uses a wit in some way to partially obscure the meaning and make the reader intrigued.
But my titles are utter rubbish and even when I do try a clever title I am compelled to put something in brackets explaining it.
“Roles you can’t imagine anyone else doing”
“Accumulated advice thread”
“Something quirky I love about the SDMB”
Most dopers could do something clever with those titles. I am intelligent, but I don’t seem to possess the power of wit.
