Who’s your favorite would-be world-conqueror, and why?
Also, have you ever gotten any really useful pointers from any of them? Just wondering . . .

I meant to post this in CS. Mods, please move.
By “The Brain”, do you mean The Big Brain from “Futurama”, or Brain, from “Pinky and the Brain”?
If it’s the first, then I go with The Big Brain, His psionic attack will render Stewie useless. If it’s the latter, then I’d say Stewie. His inventions seem to work better than Brains, and he doesn’t have a bumbling sidekick to mess them up.
I meant the latter. The mutant mouse. And, despite the form of the title, I didn’t mean to start a “who would win a fight” thread – I’m fishing for discussion of the relative merits and appeal of characters of this kind.
Stewie without a doubt. One reason is there is no way I am ever going to follow a rat, regardless of how smart he is. As well Stewie has much better 1 liners, and that is a key component, for me at least, in a dictator. Throw in a sexy party and I’m having so much fun I don’t care who dies!
actually, considering that both “TBB” and “The Brain” are voiced by Maurice LaMarche…
in the directors commentary on “The Why of Fry” episode of Futurama, David Cohen asks Maurice to do the voice of The Brain (TBB), Maurice responds “Pinky, are you pondering what i’m pondering?..whoops, wrong Brain, sorry”
Mac Tech: I went into this thread specifically to find out if someone would post the genius who voiced the Brain. Maurice LaMarche is now my newest hero. IIRC, he also did the voice of Orson Welles on the Critic. My lord! Look at his resume!
I’m surprised he didn’t cameo on the Simpsons at any point. Regardless, sheer genius.
He did. He appeared in the film festival episode, doing the voice of George C. Scott and belching noises for the only two Pulitzer Prize winners who are also champion belchers- Jay Sherman and Eudora Welty.
Yes, he did, which makes sense, seeing as the Brain is basically Orson Welles, voice-wise.
You can’t take over the world without an evil henchman. Granted Pinkie ain’t evil but who does Stewie have?
Rupert.
To varying degrees, Brian. But he isn’t so much a Henchman as a go-along for Stewie and Peter. He just kinda tends to go along with their plans, sometimes just to see what misfortune befalls them.
“I could call 911, but then you’d never learn anything.”
In one episode he had a bunch of other young ones. Admittedly don’t know if they were really on his side, or had yet to master the art of walking and couldn’t get away, but still he did have some henchman. Gave them a rousing speech as well.
Plus we mustn’t forget about the sexy parties! As many a bar and frat house has proven where there are scantily clad women men are sure to follow.
Brain: Pinky, are you thinking what I am thinking?
Pinky: I think so brain, but, where are we going to find rubber pants our size?
You actually think that someone who lacks the ability to wipe himself stands a chance to this superior intellect?
Pinky: If you change the P to an O, my name would be Oinky!!!
Case closed.
I’d much rather live under the rule of Brain, if that’s what you’re asking. He seems to have at least some concept of responsible leadership. Remember the time travel episode, when they return to a time When Mice Ruled the Earth: “It’d be easy to rule over a bunch of mice like that!” “Yes, Pinky, but who would want to?”.
Stewie, on the other hand, seems to fall more into the nihilistic style of megalomaniac. He, I think, would be quite content with utterly destroying the world, if he couldn’t rule over it. Or maybe even if he could.
Actually, this discussion is pointless. Brain already took over the world.
If you can remember back, he created a plan to take over the world where he created a giant paper mache Earth and lured all the people over there with a huge “FREE T-SHIRTS” sign.
It really was a fool proof plan, I mean, well, I fell for it.
But he got lonely and bored being the King-Of-Nothing, so he snuck back to the Paper Mache Earth and vowed to take it over.
Now if we were talking about if Stewie was taking over Paper Mache Earth…
Og I am such a nerd…
I’d put my money on Brain.
He’s more focused. Every night he tries to take over the world.
Stewie is too easily swyed by a pretty face.
Don’t you mean Chia Earth?
I never saw Stewie as wanting to conquer the world. Maybe sometime down the line, yes, but his current plans involve killing Lois. As for the Brain, his plans always seem to backfire, particularly because of Pinky. So it seems that each would-be Earth Conqueror has something in his way. Narf!
The Brain. He’s probably smarter than Stewie, and less of a jerk. He wants to take over the world because he’d be a better ruler than anyone else, whereas Stewie wants to dominate everyone. Plus The Brain doesn’t have the faux British accent.
Between him and Rob Paulsen, the voice of Pinky/Yakko Warner/gobs of other characters you’ve heard over the years, I am in voice actor awe mode. The Brain wins for sheer coolness, thank you.
