Has there ever been an explanation for that?
It’s funny.
She has impeded his progress ever since he emerged from her wretched womb.
He’s gay and is working his way through his Electra complex Stewie-style.
He’s a megalomaniacal psycho.
And yes, it’s funny.
Very good answer.
He is a budding Super-villian.
Unfortunately he is also somewhat of a prodigy.
Whereas most Super-villians find an Arch-enemy in their teens at the earliest, Stewie is already instinctively seeking his. Most Super-villians find their Arch-enemies from amongst their peers, but Stewie has had only one brief, aborted foster-care incident in which to develop his age-appropriate, antisocial skills.
He has naturally selected the one human who has most tended to (inadvertantly) thwart his plans and has presumptively designated her as his Nemesis.
Hope this clears things up.
Or, maybe (as previously posted), it’s just funny.
It is funny, but it also makes sense: Stewie wants to rule the world (or maybe fall for a rough trick named Steve) and Lois, being a parent, makes him eat his brussels sprouts, confines him to his crib, and takes away his death rays when he’s at the table. It’s enough to drive any ambiguously gay villianous monster to matricidal fantasies.
Well, as he explained it once, Lois imprisoned him in her womb. He escaped from the womb, but before he could get true freedom the “man in white” grabbed him and gave him to Lois. He considers her his jailer to a large degree. On top of that, since that day he has made considerable efforts to further his goal of world domination (building weapons, mind control devices and etc) and she often confiscates them and throws them away, thus thwarting his schemes and raising his ire.
In one episode Lois is out of the house a lot because she is running for political office. Stewie ends up feeling alone and lost without her, and curses himself for needing her around.
That cursed ovarian Bastille!
It’s not that Stewie wants Lois dead, it’s just that he doesn’t want her alive…anymore.
This makes a lot of sense, thank you. I also agree that it’s funny.
Seems like, in this season, Stewie doesn’t seem to want to kill his mom.
Heck, the Family Guy movie shows an adult Stewie who is fond of his mom.
Right, but that was Stu Griffin, not Stewie. Different timeline and all.
Best i can come up with.
He’s grown accustom to her face.
Given all the great answers so far in this thread, let me ask this - why is there the love/hate relationship between Stewie and Brian?
I’m a pompous little antichrist who’ll give up my plans for world domination when I grow up and marry a rough trick named Jim.
or something like that.
Prompting him to sing “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face” in the funniest Family Guy gag ever.
I thought that happened in the Simpsons, during one of the many Sideshow Bob episodes.
