Dammit, now I’m addicted to this game. If I ever decide to go online I’ll hit one of you guys up for a game–until then I’ll be playing SSE.
I still don’t get it. If it’s fun and there are people you’re interested in playing with online, why would there be any doubts about playing online?
One I usually don’t go online with the Wii, two I’m not sure I like the multi-player aspect of it (it’s a good platformer though) and three I feel guilty for stealing the neighbour’s wireless connection, even if it is his/her fault for leaving it unprotected (we have our own internet, just the Wii isn’t connected to it).
1up.com has a comedic take on the Subspace Emissary cutscenes. Some of the jokes fall flat, but it’s often quite amusing. I think I’m going to call Lucas “Internet Petition” from now on. (Spoilers, obviously.)
okay. I’ve started adding people now. Got everybody in, pending you guys registering me too. My code is 4425-1153-9108
I seem to be crap at this game so far, but it’s fun.

I’ve been playing this some and I would have to say that the controls are not very responsive. Particularly jumping. The double jump is not very reliable. Also, when 4 people are going at one time they may as well all be generic bots because you can’t make out any of the characters.
Finally got into an online game tonight though. Came in 2nd.
What control scheme are you using? I’m using gamecube controllers and it feels good to me. If you’re able, I suggest using them because the game was really designed for them.
I use wiimote and nunchuck, and I have little problem with jumping, though I have been using the C button for reliability.
Hey, I added all the friend codes posted, mine is 5026-40-6077. great game, nunchuck and wii-mote set up works well.
A popular alternate control I found recommended at Smashforums was to remap the down key right above your A button to jump as well - works especially well for those of us who’re used to the X and Y jumps on the Gamecube controller. Of course, saving a custom control scheme means having to remember to use your name every time you start a Brawl… or suddenly go back to jumping with a stick-flick :o
Here are all the FCs posted so far, with me at the bottom (I’ll add everyone to my list shortly):

Welcome, satoridt. You missed a couple digits in your code though if you want to throw down.
Edit: I’m using a Wavebird here. I agree with Ice Cream Man - it’s perfect.
I like my Wavebird but it’s a bit too small for my hands (I’m one of those people who found the original XBox controller to be a comfortable size). The Wiimote/Nunchuck combination helps because I can hold my hands in any position.
I doubt that there’s any significant difference between Gamecube or Wiimote/Nunchuck in terms of effectiveness; it’s strictly a comfort thing.
So it’s been a week guys, thoughts on the new characters?
So far I like Olimar, though his special attacks are mainly mapped to utilities for him the tiny alien can output a surprising amount of damage. Catch someone with a wave of pitched pikmen and they’re pretty much gone. And his final smash is just brutal. I doubt that he’ll ever be popular but I enjoy playing with him.
The biggest waste of a new slot has to be Wolf. How many effectively identical clones does Fox need?
You’re not the only one.
I love Wolf! He and Diddy are the two new characters I use the most. I also still use Mario and Pikachu from before.
Hmm, maybe that’s why people haven’t added me (except DoctorJ): They didn’t notice my code on the first page.
Let me bold it:
My code is 4425-1153-9108
Man, this game is immense. I’ve put in hours and hours and there are still modes I haven’t even tried yet.
Of the new characters, I’m also partial to Olimar. I’m awful with Dedede but I have to give him credit for beating the final boss of adventure mode for me.
I was amused and yet annoyed at how they actually made Jigglypuff one of the last to be unlocked, as Jigglypuff has always been one of my main characters (fortunately my other main guy, Ness, is unlocked fairly easily).
I’ve also found myself drawn to old characters that I wasn’t before. Zelda seems to have been powered up, Luigi has further diverged from being a Mario clone, and somehow I can be decently good with Toon Link but utterly suck as adult Link.
I’m simply amazed at Subspace Emissary. It’s a game unto itself, and as epic as any Final Fantasy. I managed to beat it in a little over 7 hours.
Hooray! I’m finally able to connect online! My code is 4296 2739 0673. I’ll get to work on adding all of yours this afternoon.
I love Olimar, personally. He actually managed to beat out Kirby as my all-time favorite (though it seems as if Kirby is dealing out significantly more damage in this game–I’m K.O.'ing people left and right while at 100+ damage still). Metaknight and Dedede are close runners up. And I do kinda like Wolf, but am still getting used to him. You have to admit, they did a decent job of giving the various clones their own styles in this game.
I do miss Pichu, though. I thought the spaztastic little bastard was hilarious to play as.
Kirby’s my crutch. If there’s something I can’t get past - Kirby can do it.
I just beat 7 guys in Cruel Brawl with the little guy.
I’ve spent the past day or so grinding through multiplayer to unlock almost everyone (I just need Wolf to have everyone) and I think I’m ready to try out online with friends now.
My code is 4210-3648-4185, and I’ll probably be adding some of you over the next day or so.
Anyone thought about getting a tournament together?
