[T]he main reason groom Marcus Tian Washington, 25, appeared before a Chester County judge yesterday was not to be married, but to be sentenced for hiding marijuana in his underwear while doing time at the Chester County Prison.

But because he was going to be in front of Judge Paula Francisco Ott anyway, Washington wondered whether she wouldn’t mind using the power vested in her to officiate over a happier occasion - his wedding.

Ott wanted to make sure that the bride, Timalin Douglass, 19, wasn’t courting disaster: Did she really want to marry someone who would be in jail for at least 31/2 more years?

The judge repeated the question several times before agreeing to officiate. Douglass had no hesitation.

The bride, formerly from Phoenixville, said the couple had been together for four years. She expressed optimism about relocating and “getting away from the wrong people and places.”

So, when they started dating she was 15 and he was 21. That is like so wrong it makes me jealous. I mean, angry. It makes me very angry.
