Looked like Spieth’s to lose, and he of course then missed 4 shorts putts on the front nine to drop into a tie. I really don’t want a replay of the 2016 Masters Jordan…
I spent most of the morning taking care of errands since I thought Spieth would run away with it. Just got home and turned it on. And :eek: I’m not a Spieth fan, but I hope he can come back and win. Two 4th round collapses in majors in 2 years, while having multiple stroke leads, is baggage I wouldn’t want for anyone.
And now he chunked it wayyy right on 13, and after 25 minutes of deciding what to do, he’s short of the green in 3.
He’s an immensely talented player, but oh Lord he sure finds ways to defeat himself.
That 25 minutes was fun in all kinds of ways. And of course, he nearly aces the 14th.

And of course he then goes birdie/eagle (almost an ace on the former too)…
And eagles the 15th! The kid’s got balls of steel.
Wow!!! He came so close to an eagle on 14, too. What a crazy round!

I seem to recall a time when Kuchar was one of the longest guys on tour. Am I wrong about that? It seems like Spieth, who is about average, is often outdriving him.

Speith’s drive on 17 was poor, but Kuchar’s looks worse.
This is one of the most insane rounds of golf I’ve ever watched. I so wish I had Tivod this round.
