Yeah, the Paiutes have to come get their artifacts - the ranchers can come in (bringing down the fence between the refuge and a local ranch) - but the Native Americans got to clear their stuff out, it’s going to be trampled by cattle if they don’t. The Bundys seem to have a very narrow view of who they might be able to express empathy with.
Right. If their free-for-all vision of land use ends up ruining the land and leaving it useless for anything, they’ll figure that they can always move on to anywhere else they want as long as they outgun whoever objects. ISTM these people truly feel the way you lived in the 19th century is the way to live?
Well, the GOPers First Harpy did say “Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It’s yours.” didn’t she?
Shawna Cox is going full blown sovereign citizen in court! Oh hell motherfuckin yes! You go girl!
But she’s using a zip code. No good sovcit would do that.
I like that she claims that Oregon was derived from the Northwest Territories. Her history is as bad as her civics.
Oh, and “counter-suite”.
Every sentence is a masterpiece of stupidity, from her crossing out “district” and putting “state” at the top of the document, down to the part where she is seeking damages from the works of the devil to the tune of $666 Billion.
By the way, it was already thrown out but I doubt this will be the end of this kind of thing. Keep 'em coming Shawna! We love you!
Ummm…wow.
Damages from the works of the devil in excess of $666,666,666,666.66? Given how many people she names in the lawsuit, I guess it’s pretty reasonable per capita.
“narcissi Federal officials”:dubious:
That is truly industrial grade looniness.
These trials are going to be quite entertaining (as long as one doesn’t actually have to sit through one).
The government should inform Ms. Cox that they have accepted her claim for value and have credited her U.S. Treasury Direct Account appropriately.
Cox is from Kanab as well? I did not realize that Kanab was such a vortex of loonyness. It seems like a nice place.
It is kind of a freeperish tradition: the government wants to preserve these wild areas for their very pristine wildness, so if we build roads tear the shit out of the land, the government will no longer be able to call the land wild, and they will have to [del]sell[/del] give it to us. They did this in Nevada during the War of Bundy, riding ATVs into archaeological site and brodying around in the hope that the government would no longer be able to call it a sensitive/cultural-heritage site.
I grew up on a cattle ranch. Cattle wander aimlessly. That’s how they look for food and water: they engage in what modern military scientists call an expanded random search network. i.e., they wander aimlessly.
They can also move with determination to known goals. Dump a new bale of alfalfa on the concrete feeding slab, and they’ll come a-runnin. When an old bull has learned of a hole in the fence-line through which he can get out onto the highway, and you’ve rounded him up and hauled him back into pasture, he’ll got directly back through that hole again. (That’s often the only way the rancher can learn where the hole is: follow the bull to it the second time.)
Bees have more organization in the pattern of their flight than cattle do. Skeeters are better optimizers. Coyotes are damn right scary, how smart they are; in terms of hunting patterns, they’re fully as smart as people. Cows? You could program the entirely of a cow’s behavior on a 1970’s microchip.
To be fair thats because we bred them for docility and calmness for thousands of years. A Wild Aurochs would have had considerably different behaviour patterns. They were considered dangerous to hunt and a fully grown male could see off a pack of wolves.
She states at the end she mailed copies to the Clerk of the US District COurt, US Prosecutor Bill Williams, and My “Next Friends” 1-10,000,000,000.
Good thing she has email. Postage for that would be a bitch.
Very true. And some of the canniness returns very quickly to feral cattle. If Bundy’s cattle are really left totally unregulated, I’d say that they have probably re-learned a lot of “wild cattle” behavior.
I may need a 1980s microchip.
Would you accept a check from Satan? Not so sure I would.
What a hoot! She’s nutty as hell without crossing over into an insanity defense.
I believe “orneriness” is the legal term we’re using now.
I have to admit that pile’o’inanity did make me wonder about something I had never considered before.
If you sue the entire state Bar, is there anybody left who’s legal licensed to represent you without having a conflict of interest?
I can’t find a link yet but a grand jury has indicted Cliven, Ammon and Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne and Pete Santilli on 16 felony counts over the 2014 standoff. Each charge is 5-20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
