I thought those were tiny faux testicles that you hang off the end of your rifle.
Those go well with the bags of dicks they are fond of.
As I recall at the time, they received many boxes of dicks.
Dicks for dicks! Dicks all the way down.
People in Seattle line up for a bag of Dick’s.
Dick Nixon before he dicks you.
I have always liked this commercial for Dickens Cider. Ok, I had to break the link. Just join the two parts. Warning, there are dreadful puns ahead.
Dang, something is still wrong. Try Dickens cider commercial on YouTube.
That’s a bad of Dick’s I can endorse!
Until those too get rounded up and sold at auction to pay his legal debts. If they can go after his house they can sure as heck go after his herd.
Cliven is dad who has been illegally grazing cattle on federal lands for 30 years and had an armed standoff with the feds and “won”. As far as I know, he has faced no real repercussions and has warned that he will bring out the guns once again if the feds show up.
Ammon, chip off the old domestic terrorism stone, is the one that lost his house and is on the lam.
Here is a gift article about dad:
Edit to add: Cliven is also about as racist as they come.
I am seriously wondering if at this point, the Feds are waiting for Cliven to become incapable of raising armed resistance due to age / health and just take everything, or have truly given up. More realistically, they’re waiting for his passing and then put a lien against the entire estate for unpaid debts.
I figure the latter scenario of course, they can afford to be patient, and confiscating a dead man’s property for unpaid debts is less of a PR issue than taking them from a sick/old man.
You’re right, I got them mixed up. I’d get much more schadenfreude from nailing Cliven than Ammon, so I guess it was just wishful thinking.
That makes sense. Still pisses me off.
I saw Bad of Dick’s open for Bump of Chicken.
(One of those is a real band name)
Cite that they tried to stop him? Last I heard, they weren’t even attempting to enforce the law.
I mean, they did round up his cattle and try to confiscate it. I’d call that “trying to stop him.” Then when he showed up with a few hundred of his closest friends, all armed to the teeth, BLM made a decision to let the cattle go rather than risk a pitched battle.
Cliven Bundy won’t live forever, and he probably won’t leave much wealth behind him when government has finished picking over the contents of his will, trust, or whatever.
They could have started shooting. The cattle.
And rather than just driving off immediately, with the cattle still loaded up. Taking the time to actually unload the cattle seems to me like the absolute epitome of not even trying.
Had the cattle been loaded up from the gather? Did the protestors threaten to fire on trucks that hauled away cattle as they left? Would you have been happy to drive one of those trucks away if they had?’
You’d have had the full force of law in your favor, which I’m sure would have been a great consolation to your next of kin.
After Ruby Ridge and Waco, the Feds will never again provoke an armed confrontation with citizens. Which isn’t to say they aren’t doing anything at all. But those led us to a very bad place, and in my view, it is not wise to make the same mistake a third time.
