What’s complicated? They are all free to leave at any time. AIUI, the children are not being held hostage, and they haven’t been threatened with harm by anyone. Cut off resources, and when they leave to find richer environs, it ends.

What’s more, if any children are mistreated or exposed to unhealthy conditions as a result of refusing to comply, they can be charged with child endangerment in addition to any other crimes they have committed.

I was speaking hypothetically. Apparently, as it turns out, there are no children there, but at the time I said that, there were reports that they might be bringing in children. if they had done that, I don’t think that the children would be free to leave at any time. Therefore turning off water and heat (in the middle of winter) would cease to be an option. I don’t see what’s so hard to understand about that.

Seeing as the Bundys got away with their armed action against the BLM scott-free the last time there is a very real risk that the sovereign citizen/aryan nations/christian identity movement will be emboldened by yet another case of inaction to their violence.

There were also three sacks of potatoes, one bag of flour, another of rolled oats, boxes of raisins, a single bag of pretzels and one granola bar.

This made me envision a meter-maid in a three wheeler driving up to the Malheur parking lot and planting tickets under the wipers of their trucks.
