Who thinks law enforcement would have been that tolerant of BLM and Occupy Wall Street if they were all sitting there peacefully with their AK’s in their laps?
Oh yeah! ![]()
You’d be surprised how quickly that perimeter shrinks when the .50 cal sniper rounds start coming in from nowhere in sight.
What is a LEAs normal strategy for handling a LARPfest?
There are other significant differences other than the stated peaceful intent. A big one: OWS and BLM are urban movements. That means violence has a much greater chance of harming innocents and civilians - no matter who starts it, and a bigger chance of creating riots and heavy property damage.
Best suggestion I’ve seen is for “supporters” to ship them some food liberally laced with laxatives. Or just send them sugar free gummy bears
My best suggestion is to ship them. For example, ship them to some shit-hole third world country.
Sure, Somalia would be the obvious choice. Theres large sections of the country where you can go and be a “freeman on the land” if you are tough enough to displace the local warlord. It should be paradise for them…
Hey, if they’re so keen on being martyrs, the Islamic State is the obvious choice.
The calvary has arrived!
*BURNS, Ore. (AP) — A convoy of more than a dozen pickup trucks carrying armed men arrived at a national wildlife refuge in Oregon on Saturday… carrying rifles and handguns and dressed in military attire and bulletproof vests.
Their leader, Brandon Curtiss, said the group came to “de-escalate” the situation by providing security for those inside and outside the compound (and that) the new group is not staying inside the refuge, but are patrolling the perimeter.
One of the original occupiers of the refuge, LaVoy Finicum, said the group appreciates the Pacific Patriot Network’s help, but “we want the long guns put away.”*
I am not sure this guy understands “de-escalate”.
Are they bringing snacks?
It’s like Cruz and his directed carpet bombing.
Shag carpet perhaps?
Or a nice little throw rug.
The preferred term appears to be “Yee-hawdists”.
It doesn’t quite fit their ideology, such as it is, but I still kind of like Bundyst.
According to the story, Bundy did tell the cavalry ( nitpick, it’s not calvary, Calvary was the hill that Jesus Christ died on-so maybe you’re not that far off, after all) that they weren’t needed. They probably thought that the extra security would make it more difficult to get pizza delivered.
But the best thing about that story is the part about what I’m sure was a boredom and beer fueled event - the militants seized a bunch of dump trucks and backhoes in the name of the people of Harney County and spent the afternoon driving them around.
Yee Haw!!!
…to act out their homo-erotic porn…? yikes
How about the “Bund”? Which google translates to “waistband”.
Since they like to make up tragic stories, I think I’ll call them Bundburyists.
