The Burning Dog Crater -- Raidlist and other fun things for Cataclysm

Bird, do you have a macro or something that creates events and invites everyone? I was thinking of making the invitations for Monday nights when you’re gone/forget, but I gave up because it seemed tedious beyond belief to invite every 85, do you have some secret, or are you just as patient as a statue?

LOL, no I just use the Create Event (not Create Guild Event) and use the nifty ‘Mass Invite’ button. You can specify level range and guild status minimum. I usually did all 85s of any level. And then I would add by hand our other members (Like Darland, Reinsgaard, and someone else I can’t remember - Me I guess!)

I’m back from vacation! Hopefully be online tonight to see if I remember how to play. I should be around for any Monday night hijinks. I’d like to see the new BH boss.

Couple of notes:

I just got the recipe and made one Agile Shadowspirit Diamond and put it in the G-bank…happy days for you hunters and rogues and ferals!

I’ve been churning on those FL dailies…pretty much have done as many dailies as I can find. I am also doing the Shadow Warden dailies now as well. I’m trying hard to get to the BS plans before I go on vacation on July 23. I also noticed something else…each weapon uses FIVE CHAOS ORBS. I have 13 atm, but I know many of you would love to have a lvl 365 weapon (or two!), so I realize I’m gonna have to do some heavy-duty grinding for orbs from here on out. Would love to do more Guildie only heroics to keep the orbs “in-house” so to speak, so do not hesitate to invite me to any heroics.

Help me help you!

Ah mass invite is grayed out for me, from searching it looks like since Mass Invite is tied to the guild, I may need to be a rank that has permissions (probably hellhound) to be able to do it. Oh well.

Things looked bleak for a guild run last night, but after a few of us helped defend TB we managed to pug two tanks and got an assist from Darland and two of his guildies, including healer, and take down both bosses in BH. Wiped once on the new boss but on the second attempt got him down just as he enraged and took out about half the group. Success!

Personally I spend the rest of my time doing the Hyjal dailies on my priest, and some of the low-level Goblin quests in Azshara (trying to hit exalted so I can add the two trikes to my mount stable).

Yup! Good times - thanks for the invite. It was my first time killing that boss, and doing it with a DPS dead (Jarryn died early, right?) was pretty sweet.

Sorry I missed it. My guild was running FL trash for rep and since I need the dps bump, I wanted the help. (got Honored!) Grats on the success! Did anyone get anything good from the drops?

Not that I recall - it was all PvP gear. I believe the Priest/Mage/Warlock S10 piece went to Jarryn (since the priest from my guild PvPs as Disc) and the rogue piece went to a rogue in my guild that I don’t really know. The S9 stuff I don’t recall - maybe Yeti got one?

Yes, Yeti got the S9 piece and the rogue from your guild got the other S9 piece (I already had it).

Yeah, Yeti did get one of the S9 pieces and I think maybe the rogue got the other one. It was all PvP; made me sad that I didn’t bring Kene who is my PvPer. But he can’t heal anymore.

I’m glad we found that other tank - I’m not sure we could have gotten the adds down fast enough without the Howling Blast spam (not to mention beating the enrage). The tank’s job in that fight seems very easy compared to what the DPS have to do.

I’m sorry I couldn’t have been there – I would have tried tanking for us. But nasty thunderstorms started rolling through our area just before guild time (the kind of storms that make those lovely orange and red blots on the weather radar), so I logged on just long enough to announce that I couldn’t make it, and then shut everything down.

Wantz FL trash run! Invitz Yeti!

Run here! AOE ASAP! Run away! REPEAT!

The second time they explained on how to do it made all the difference…

Vicious Gladiator’s Scaled Gauntlets. A pleasant surprise, even if it was soooooo last season.

The tanks weren’t taking a whole lot of damage either - in between the AoE phases I even had time to take a couple of swings at the boss. The tricky part was the AoE damage if the DPS wasn’t quite quick enough on the adds.

But I’m also glad you were on DPS, we really needed it since we survived the enrage by the skin of our teeth.

Yeah, that was me getting dropped a whopping 36 seconds in. I still really have no idea how. I ran to the blue box and didn’t even get a chance to start attacking the adds before I was dead. Looking down at my corpse, there was the blue box and me right under it. So, I dunno what I did wrong.

I felt like a schmuck rolling on those boots. I was waiting and waiting for the other priest to roll, but when someone said he didn’t want them, I felt slightly better about taking them. Still, the whole me dying quick and ending up with loot thing is a little weird. I know there’s no need for me to think that, but I do.

All in all, I call it a success. But I felt like a made a few mistakes in the encounter. It’s difficult to tell if there are still adds to be burned down in the mess of AOE effects, and I felt like I was probably leaving the AOE phase a little too early. I figured erring on the side of early was better than death. I assume that’s why I still took some damage after leaving the AOE area.

Healers seemed to do OK keeping us up, but I know we didn’t make your job any easier. I lost some dps using recovery to get back some hps after the AOE. Also probably not ideal, considering we missed the berserk timer.

BTW, Jas09, I didn’t realize that was you at the time. Nice having you along. Like old times

Actually I’m a little unclear on the mechanics in that phase. What’s the purpose of stacking? Do you take more damage if you don’t stack, and if you leave the stack too quickly? Do you take more if you stick around in that spot too long?

Since one of my AoE heals is directional, I tried to stand off to the side a little bit so I could hit everyone but I was nervous about doing so.

I thought the eyes aggro’d on different people, and so stacking brought them all together for slaughter. I could be wrong, though.

That could be, it would make sense.
