Okay, does anyone else remember this cartoon. I remember watching it when I was little, and I remember them doing this conga line dance thing around their house to a specific song (I think it was their theme song). I belive it invloved them Dancing around the toatser. Does anyone remeber the name of that song, or even some of the words? It has been driving me nuts, and it’s really hard to do a search for a song when you don’t even remember any of the words. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can I assume you’re talking about “Heard It Through the Grapevine?” This was the song used in the advertisements for the California Raisin Board.
The commercials used “I Heard it through the Grapevine,” with second line changed to “raised in the California sunshine” Another commerical used “My Girl” (Sunmaid Raisin Commercial)
The Cartoon was based on two TV specials done in claymation, where they sang a lot of oldies songs, including “Cool Jerk.”(only one i can remember, done to a snowman audiance) The Cartoon’s theme was an original song, i only remember partial lyrics, near the end, something like “…California Raisins, Amazin’ Raisins, It’s the California Raisins’ Show! The California Raisins’ Shooooow!”
Well, heck. I’ve got “The California Raisins” album from 1987 when they were big. Songs include:
[ul]Side One
[li]I Heard It Through The Grapevine[/li][li]Lean On Me[/li][li]Stand By Me[/li][li]You Can’t Hurry Love[/li][li]Hearbreak Hotel[/ul][/li][ul]Side Two
[li]La Bamba[/li][li]Respect[/li][li]When A Man Loves A Woman[/li][li]Sweet, Delicious & Marvelous (Califoria Raisins Theme Song)[/li][li]Mony, Mony[/ul][/li]The so-called “Califoria Raisins Theme Song” is not the theme from the show, though. The Claymation characters were done by Will Vinton.
Thanks guys, I am positive that it was I heard it Through the Grapevine that I was thinking of. Now I have it stuck in my head, but at least I know the song I have in my head.
