The Canadope Café, 2014 Edition: In 3-D!

I’ll be skiing in the USA today. Going to wear a ski jacket with a red maple leaf patch on it. Let’s see if I come back alive.

The church I’ve been singing at for a while is going to show the game on the big projection screen that they use for artwork, scripture and hymns. There’s an invitation on the big sign out front welcoming the whole neighbourhood.

It may not have exactly the same effect now that Toronto city council has passed a law allowing bars to serve on that Sunday morning, but we’ll see.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the gold!

They say there are no hockey atheists during championships.

OK.

I just baked a dozen banana muffins, and a dozen chocolate muffins to take in the morning. (From powdered Quaker muffin mixes; I’m not that crazy to attempt from scratch!)

Plus I just mixed up a 2 litre jug of Caesars. I’m sampling my mixture now: tastes great ! Plus I have a magnum of champagne to take over, well bubbly wine, not actual champagne from the region in France.

Annnnnd, I’m getting laundry done for the week, so I don’t need to worry about it tomorrow.

Jeesh, they better win after all I’ve put into it!

Snow has been falling all day in Vancouver, but it justt won’t stick. It’s back to rain now but I have high hopes for overnight. I am making pizza and preparing to eat it in front of the television (Mr. Mallard is away, so it’s a wild and crazy night).

I get to keep my passport–I’m up and awake for this game.

Me too, I’m up early on a weekend and for sports. I don’t even know who I am anymore!

We’re in Ottawa today so it was an easy wake-up. The conference organisers bowed to the inevitable and delayed the start of the morning session until after the game.

Towes scores!

Wish I’d known that you were in town, Piper - I’d have invited you for a beer at D’arcy McGee’s!

Crosby scores!

Great breakaway!

I’d like to thank both teams for not scoring in the first bit of the second, as I didn’t finish making breakfast during the first intermission.

Pretty play by Sid.

Leaffan, how are those Caesars? We’ve just mixed up some Bloody Marys here.

Thanks, but between conference and the boyo, I’m on the run! (The boyo especially; his five year old legs seem to have a lot more energy than mine!)

Coming up - the longest 20 minutes EVER!

Kunis scores!

Hard to see the Swedes getting back in this when they get a power play and Canada has 2 scoring chances to none for Sweden during it.

And they do it!
