That is great news!

Winter Journal, Day 5,329: Cold and snowing again. Still have will to live. For now.
I’m hoping Tim Horton’s brings back my beloved cherry cheese danish - the original one, that was soft and sort of doughy.
They altered it several years ago to a crispy lattice-work pastry that crumbles into a million shards of gross.
Probably when their definition of fresh-baked changed to frozen.
Can anyone explain to me why Timmies needs to sell a crispy chicken sandwich? I think they have completely lost their way and need to get back to what they did best. Fresh baked goods, sandwiches and soup…Not trying to out McD McDs.
Winter Journal Day 5,330 - Cold and snowy. Still…have…will…to live.
Hang in there, Cat. Spring will come, I know. I am sure that by July, the snow will be off the ground, and we will see temps that only require a light jacket.
Seriously, I’m as tired of this as you are. C’mon, Spring, spring already!
Bad News: Flurries in the forecast for tonight.
Good News: Only negative temps in the forecast, going forward, are due to wind chill.
Winter Journal, Day 5,331 - Still cold. Snow forecast for later today. Makes note: grow castor beans next year.
Compared to last year, it’s been really good here - not nearly the same snow load, and a long steady melt. Just the thing to keep water out of basements.
Good point; we had a good melt already, too (before we got all this snow again) - hopefully that will help with our flooding situation this spring, too.
Winter Journal Day 5,332 - Still cold. Still snowing. Still have vestigial will to live. I am SOOOOOO ready for the cold to finally fuck right off!
Here’s Frankie MacDonaldgiving tomorrow’s forecast for my town: Major Snowstorm to Hit Thunder Bay Ontario on Monday March 31, 2014 - YouTube
This guy’s enthusiasm is terrific! (And he has some darn good advice too.)
Warm(ish) in Oshawa this aft! Pale blue sky, warm sunlight, brisk fresh wind blowing. Pleasant in bus shelter.
I have a placement job interview next week! And one more month of classes, then 4-6 weeks of placement, then graduation at the end of June!
Spring is coming!
Hi y’all
I just found this thread. I’m in Winnipeg. Colorado Low was supposed to sweep through here tonight and tomorrow. The Weather channel and Environment Canada are giving conflicting information (WC says we’re getting it, and EC say, nah, emergency is over!)
All I know it’s windy as hell out there. Probably snowing. Northwestern Ontario should get snow though…
Hey, this far into winter we have it down to an art. Use the riding snow blower to clear a path for the stuck car, then use the truck to pull the riding snow blower back onto the drive, and then use the truck again to pull out the stuck car. Of course it would have been a lot easier if the car had a tow point on its back end, but no, the manufacturer had to save a couple of bucks by only putting a tow point on the front.
And yes, here in NW ONT we’re set to get snow tomorrow: ice pellets, lots of snow, high winds. See y’all come spring in a month or two. The good thing is that there will be lift area skiing through Easter, and back-country well into May.
We were supposed to get 5 cm last night; we got 15. I didn’t shovel the last snow because “It’s just going to melt.” I had to snow blow my driveway today.
Bloody hell.
The snow today was so light and fluffy looking I could almost imagine it was poplar fluff.
I even have a cold so my head feels like I am having an allergy attack. It was nice, until I had to leave the house and get cold.

Can’t quote from it, because I’ve used up my quota of free National Post articles for the month, but it’s an interesting read.
It was supposed to be above zero here finally today - the high is looking like -8. Bah. Bah, I say!
It’s a glorious, sunny +5 here. It’s wonderful. I feel like dancing naked in my back yard tonight. I just might.
