Well, for me at least, I don’t much want to find out what giant piece of pierced nipple jewelry Janet Jackson is wearing for the occasion. Ew.
Of course this being Canada so we’d be talking either Jan Arden or Alan Doyle…
I’m just surprised we haven’t seen Jann Arden with a wardrobe malfunction yet - she’s not a terribly shy person.
It was a great game. Right down to the wire. I didn’t care who won, but that last play–the runback by Banks–was something special, even though there was a penalty.
Congratulations to the Stamps, and thanks for a great game to the Ti-Cats!
There was a wardrobe malfunction – a [del]protective[/del] cup broke.
We went to see Corner Gas: The Movie tonight - it was good. It was entertaining and funny; maybe not as funny as the show, but definitely entertaining. I’d definitely recommend watching it when it comes on tv later this month. ![]()
The year’s almost over, and I’d feel sorry not saying goodbye to Jean Béliveau in this thread. He was one of the greats in the NHL and by all accounts a real gentleman and all around good guy. Bonsoir, Le Gros Bill.
I was wondering about “Corner Gas: The Movie” and its five-day-only run. What’s the reason for that? Is it because the production company is renting theatres, as Sunn Classic Pictures (“The Adventures of the Wilderness Family” and other such fare) used to do?
I think the movie is meant to be a tv movie, with a very limited run in theatres.
And we have a declared outbreak of whooping cough in Alberta. I have my husband (who has asthma) and me booked in for our whooping cough booster shots.
I’ll look forward to it on TV. I haven’t been to a cinema in ages, but I do like Corner Gas.
A typically Canadian story: Trapped loon rescued.
What’s Ezra been up to now?

Doing a trap, neuter, and release on him wouldn’t be the worst idea ever. ![]()
Well, the “release” part aside … ![]()
Yes, the primary intent of the film is as a direct-to-TV movie, but they put it in the theatres as a limited run as well, with 20 minutes of pre-movie bonus features!
Most importantly, as someone who contributed to the movie’s Kickstarter campaign, my name is in the closing credits. Seeing that on the big screen was practically worth the price of admission right there.
Spoons, the Park Place theatre is quite nice and modern—a good spot to catch two hours of Corner Gas. ![]()
Here we are, 25 years following the massacre of fourteen women at Montreal’s Ecole Polytechnique by a man who wanted to fight feminism. Let’s remember them, and in doing so, be alert to misogyny and speak out against it when we come across it.
I’m sure it’s nice, Jimbo, but the problem is, I have nobody to go to the movies with.
Well, I guess I could go on my own.
Poking fun at American beer. It may have been true decades ago, but it’s still fun.
Good one, Leaffan. Thanks for the link!
I will say that there are a lot of American microbrews that are quite tasty and strong. Of course, we have some too. I’m glad that we’ve got a lot more choice than we did thirty years ago.
