Morning all,
Took me 1.5 hrs to drive home in the snow, where as it usually only takes me .5 hrs. All that to wake up to rain. Grrr! Was going to go out for pizza and new beer tasting but weather might not cooperate again.

I lost power for three hours this morning. Lost of ice on trees and cars. And I’ll be heading to work when Round Two hits this afternoon.
If you’re cheap, I’m easy.
FCM, Gordie took his sweet time this morning, too.
Winchester saw a greyhound down the street, and there was no budging him until it was out of sight. Then he climbed a snowbank like a mountain goat and pooped so far out of my reach all I could do was throw snow at it and hope nobody saw.
The office is officially closed, so I didn’t have to take my nope-day. It’s snowing sideways out there. Probably 2-3 inches when I walked Winchester at 7, and I’d say we’re close to double that, now.
Sorry Rosie, but now I know I’m in love. How you doin’, Drae ![]()
I tried to go to the store on the way home last night; there was a line into the parking lot of Trader Joe’s, but there was an open space across the street. Parked & went in, the produce section was 80% empty shelves but when I looked left, the cashier lines were all short. As I walked up the first aisle, I realized why. There was one queue to checkout, literally all the way around the store, up one aisle, across the back & down the last aisle. No way I’m waiting in that for one item. Next supermarket had no ground meat (unless I wanted the supermegaextendedfamily size).
Third supermarket had it, & also scored a block o cheese, so there will be both chili & baked mac & cheese in the next few days. ![]()
I’m having a rough morning, workwise. With everything else I brought in last night, I never got my irk 'puter out of the car. The garage is attached, but unheated! I had to put on footwear to keep my tootsies warm from the cold, cold concrete! Oh whoa is me! ![]()
We already have about 6" out there, but neighbor was out with his snowblower already so I had a coating when I started typing this, now about 1".
Spidey just broke my heart. waaaah.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s white, windy, and silent outside. I can’t tell what is coming down, it may be rain.
I see that the owner of piddlepup called twice last night. I guess I will call him back today. I know they were planning to go away this weekend.
Why do I feel guilty if I say ‘no’? I’ve been telling people since September to find another sitter. I am supposed to go out tomorrow night anyway and even though I probably won’t, well let’s put it this way, if the weather is keeping me in tomorrow from going to lunch with my friend or going to dinner with OAOASO, then I’m not going out period. At this point I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow but if I have to go out it’s going to be for fun.
Swampy will mail him some pointy stick wielding spiders, and I some baby spitting Cardinal fish.
Glad you are doing ok, Swampy. NPR described the power outages in Georgia this morning. From experience, I know it sucks.
Carpets have been spot cleaned, and I’m showered and dressed and about to start working on towels again. Technically, I should be at work now, with the 3-hour delay, but it ain’t gonna happen. We haven’t even thought about clearing the driveway. With luck, the rain will melt it all, right? <snerk>
You have insulted this woman’s honor, sir! I demand satisfaction!
I shall be happy to serve as your second!
Wood chippers at three feet, perhaps?
Isn’t the challenged party supposed to choose the weapons?
I am making a suggestion.
Spidey is a weenie, and will choose rubber band guns at half a city block.
We’re in the middle of a “wintery mix” from the south until the “other storm” from the west pushes it out tomorrow. You know, you and Swampykins could keep all this stuff to yourselves — we’ve had enough this winter as it is.
Good morning.
We got about an inch or two of snow yesterday from 4 o’clock to 8 o’clock, but then it started raining and the thermometer jumped up to 45F from freezing. All of the snow was gone before I went to bed at midnight, and all we got is rain. We got off lucky.
Hope those that got walloped (like Raleigh and New England) are doing okay.
Blurf. Very blurf.
No snow here. The weather sites are hoping for more rain, but they disagree on when it might happen.
Gah. Need to move.
flytrap all I got down my way is rain and cold. No ice and snow, thus no power outage. Mom, sis, and the bros all report some ice and snow but the power is fine in Ye Olde Hometowne. I’m glad for that!
Ruble I had nuttin’ to do with this storm so it’s all on doggio.
sari don’t feel bad. Hellpup’s 'rents are well aware of the fact. If they chose to ignore what you told 'em, then this is their problem, not yours. Hope you get your romantic VD dinner with OAOASO and/or N.O.L. with your friend tomorrow.
In other news, I am still stuffded from brekkie at Pearly’s this mornin’. I had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig bacon/cheese omelette, grits, and a bizkit. I et every crumb. I have beastloaf and mac ‘n cheese for N.O.L. but it may end up goin’ home today or stayin’ in the irk breakroom fridge for tomorrow’s N.O.L.
Irk is quiet. This is good cause I do need to be goin’ through files and makin’ sure stuff that’s supposed to be in ‘em is indeed there. My big concern is knowin’ files that were here when I started or have been created after I started are good. Anything before that I’ll look at if I have time before the audit in April happens.
Oh well, time to get back to irkstuff I reckon.
Dueling Mumpers?
Eating VD?
Snowpocalypse and Dogs refusing to do their business in it?
Upright citizens playing hookey from irk?
What is going on here? Have the wheels come off? Seems our only stalwart is the Pacyderm Prevention Patrol.
Oh wait it is Thorsday, we are Mumpers and this is normal. Lost it for a minute, nothing to see here, move along.
Keep warm and dry
Coffee
Jim
The rain has stopped, but it’s still damp and windy and cold. I just let Higgs out - I expect her to be scratching at the door shortly.
And I have a pile of 30 dish towels waiting to be hemmed. So that’s next on the agenda. I had an early lunch of leftover pizza and now it’s time to move forward. rah.
I have not been outside, but there are reports of a foot of snow on my friend’s deck. I think I shall take a nap.
We didn’t want to hog it all. We’re polite like that.
Rain now, waiting for Round 2.
