The Crimson Glyph (Werewolf/Mafia/Psychopath)

It’s a tad too quiet here.

Perhaps it is just me hearing my death approach.

Perhaps. :frowning:

Out of curiosity, can someone post a link to the very first SDMB Mafia game?

I think we’re just “talked out” for one Night. You can see why most nights are shorter than this.

I’m sure once Day hits, things will be going again.

Yeesh, I can’t find it. Just search “mafia” in the search engine and you can find some rather old ones. The Split just ended before this game began and was a more standard example. I and a few others from this game were in that too.

most excellent. come up with a scenario and then toss out anomolies based on willy nilly.

You can’t find it because it was called Werewolf. Ah, the good old days.

By the way, the wiki should have a link to every game we’ve every played.

Something like that. Strictly on a factual basis, there is nothing to guarantee that the sun will come up on time. (Such that it is.)

i run at 70 plus or so. and if you look at deep into games it’s a hell of a lot higher.

and the method is to have your team win. helps the percentages a bunch.

I am working on the quality of my posts.

I just recently woke up to what really goes on in these games. I realize the mistakes I have made. Re-reading the posts, there was a lot that wooshed me. There was a LOT that I simply didn’t even read. [Too busy going my own way, I guess.]

But, I am getting to my Eulogy too soon.

I see how it is Rysto.
Woo Hoo! on me figuring out how to do the multiple thread posting too.

Heh.

I wonder what I would be like in Doperball.

Oh, and Chronos, you can’t comment on my post volume ever again.

Right. peeker is an awesome Mafia player. I think most anyone else would find it impossible to copy his style (for one thing, they’d likely die of alcohol poisoning), but it works really well for him. He lurks in plain sight and it’s hard to lynch him because everyone says “Oh, that’s just peeker”. But when he’s Town, he does come up with good pro-Town ideas which he manages to express in a comprehensible manner. The fact that he hasn’t been doing that this game, combined with the dubious behavior of the player he replaced, makes me think he probably isn’t Town.

Oh, yeah, that reminds me…probably best to mention this now in case I don’t survive the night. Back when peekytoe first entered the game, he made some reference to how trying to catch up was like reading Christie while taking notes. In the first game I ever played, he made a few similar comments, dropping the names of famous fictional detectives into his posts. He later claimed Detective and pointed to these as “breadcrumbs”. In fact, he was scum, and his false claim led directly to his team winning. Just thought I would mention that in case he has the same gambit in mind.

Reminder, less than an hour left before Dawn. If you’re planning on posting anything before then (coughMeekocough), now’s the time.

I am aware of the time.

I need to strike a delicate balance on when to do this.

But, Chronos, if you are ready for my post, I guess I can let you have it.

It would seem that this is my death. I have a few words before I leave you.

Let me take the time here, to reflect on what I have learned in this game. First, on playing the game:

Who figures he could keep going on and on, but at some point, he must trust that his actions will live on after he does. You guys have a lot of things left to digest in this game.

Chronos, I want to be clear, that was what you were talking about, correct?

This game has been real fun gang. Can’t wait till I get to try it again.

Peeker, Mahaloth, you guys will revieve a pm from AFTER this game is offically over. Questions and explanations, and perhaps you guys will get both.

If you guys see Hansel and Gretel, tell them to respond to my Eulogy.

It was an uneasy night. The sounds of the wicked rang through the town, and the recent meteor shower played toward everyone’s fears. It shone over the founder’s house, where everyone was gathered. There sat John Winthrop, clammy, gasping for breath. He was treated with herbs; he was treated with prayer.

He never had a chance. The poison saw to that.

The town left, shaken, at sunrise. Perhaps they could still fix things.

Chronos, a.k.a. John Winthrop (Governor/Politician), is dead.

Day 5. Day ends Monday 1:00 PM MDT.

I knew it.

Chronos was breadcrumbing that just a TAD too much.

I should have known it was a bad sign that the book included my funeral.
