I saw a post on Reddit that indicated Chicago is getting their salt trucks ready to block streets in the event of federal activity.

One of the Aerial Cavalry Commanders liked to wear that Union Army style hat into battle. Harkening back to the Army’s horse cavalry of the 1800s.

It’s a reference to Lt Col Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now but the whole thing does suggest he’s declaring war on Chicago.
It’s weird how Trump keeps posting pictures of himself in famous films, but at least this time he didn’t go with the main villain, unlike previous comparisons to Darth Vader and Thanos.

Per my wife, who was a Black Hawk pilot, the attack helicopter pilots tended to wear them. So it’s not just a movie thing.

His post is an obvious attempt to provoke violence. And a violent response will prove he was right about the city. Law abiding protests are justified but will not stop anything.

That’s a horror I already see.
The horror of him getting the Capitol Police to block Democrats from taking their seats is,both speculative and, IMHO, unlikely. And there’s not much reason for Trump to care about party control. He mostly ignores the law, so a Democratic congress will not be a big problem for him. He’d veto almost everything and, in the unlikely event of a veto override, ignore it.
He wouldn’t like congressional Democrats investigating his administration, but in the absence of a 2/3 Senate majority for an impeachment conviction, it would just be talk.
In the absence of a SCOTUS change of heart, Congress has been neutered.
He is terrified of being impeached again.
