  11. “The beer that made Milwaukee famous” is now a niche brand

  12. Based in Detroit, but very popular in Cleveland when I was growing up – the beer was a major sponsor of Cleveland Indians’ broadcasts, and several of its jingles are ingrained on my brain

  13. Perhaps produced in quantities too large to qualify as a true microbrew, but I’m going for the points here

  11. I guess this is more of a craft beer, but I don’t know any microbrews. If they’re micro, how would I find them?

I’m not a very beery person, so I don’t expect to do well in this beery feud. It was a challenge!

Chinese, actually. I’m just sayin’.

I consider myself a beer fan, but can somebody enlighten me as to the difference between a regional beer and a microbrew?

Isn’t this an American beer?

Yes it is. Manufactured by Coors, but purportedly based on an Irish beer recipe. My dad, who usually isn’t really much of a beer drinker, liked it for a while. It’s not terrible, but it’s nothing spectacular either.

Also, some people seem to be under the delusion that the Pabst Blue Ribbon label is uncommon. While in the US (central Ohio) I couldn’t find a supermarket that didn’t carry it. It also seemed to be the cheap beer of choice for all the yuppie/college/indie bars.

See the special Christmas Feud here.

I’ll score this one tomorrow…

“The beer that made Milwaukee famous,” my fuzzy butt.

2nd then 8th. I am the new star. I would like to thank the little people who made this possible. That would be Worm and Otak ,who have given so much to make me a contender. It is through the little people that we realize our lofty ambitions. The foot soldiers that make us generals so important. I thank you.

37th out of 43. A rather lackluster performance considering it was my thread. I figured I’d probably founder on the regional and microbrew questions but I’m surprised I did so poor on the cheap beer question by picking Keystone.

Incidentally, number 4 (the Japanese beer question) I had second thoughts about a few seconds after submitting it. I really should’ve made that about Mexican beer instead. (I wonder if Corona would’ve been a conch?)
