The Daily Show 10/18

I was a little worried that Jon might apologize. The allayed those fears pretty quickly. Paraphasing…

I didn’t mean to say that just Tucker was a dick. The other three are dicks too.

Just one line from a nice little rant.

I was worried it apologize too and so glad he didn’t. In fact, he really let rip even harder. That man is a machine, I sure hope he doesn’t end up another Bill Maher…

I found it funny how in the middle of talking about something like the election, he’d bring up Crossfire again, rag on them, and then return to the topic at hand. He did this all throughout the episode. He sounds miffed enough. I wonder what he’ll do from here, because I’ve got this feeling he has something on his mind.

Is there a doin’s a-transpirin’?

I must have missed something. I missed the show, but what would Stewart apologize for? What did he say?

See here.

Damn, my satellite went out last night so I missed tonights Daily Show. Anyone know if there’s a transcript available anywhere? Or better yet a video?

As far as Stewart becoming another Bill Maher…I don’t think that’s going to happen. Stewart usually does the research to back himself up and generally really knows what he’s talking about. Maher…not so much.

That would kinda suck, but at least Bill Maher hasn’t simply picked a single side and started spouting rhetoric and party lines like the Stewart was railing against, and he can still be funny.

Al Franken, Dennis Miller, Janeane Garofalo, on the other hand, appear to be lost causes. It seems they’ve become so bitter and narrow-minded that they can’t even consider anything on the other end of their political leaning.

I don’t know whether or not you intentionally used that phrase because Jon Stewart always does, but either way it’s pretty funny.

It’s really too bad that they were in reruns last week and only got to hit on the last debates last night. The humor is much sharper when you watch it a half hour after watching the real thing. Stewart and team have the ability to hit home runs with fresh material (the Zell Miller piece is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on TDS) but only hit singles last night due to the time that’s passed (Although Budget Man got me pretty good). I don’t know how they figured that last week was a good one to take off. Stewart should be live every day until Nov. 3rd or 4th.

Ohio sex tour, remember?

Cluricaun, I think they took that week off to promote the book.

Anyway, I was glad he mentioned (and didn’t apologize for) the Crossfire appearance. I also hope he won’t start taking himself too seriously. It would make his “we’re just a little comedy show” stance seem hypocritical.

He’s perfect just as he is…and even more so after Crossfire.

Anybody think Ed Koch’s statements might sway some undecided voters? (Assuming any Daily Show viewers were undecided.)

Thank heaven for Stewart’s response about Al Qaeda being in 60 countries.

The Daily Show is usually rerun at 7 pm the next day, so if you (like me) missed the show you can catch it this evening.

In case you want to watch the Crossfire clip.
