Last year, about this same time, I started a thread titled, “My wife left me.” A clever, overtly manipulative thread title guaranteed to garner a bunch of viewings.
Truth is, she and kids are taking Easter weekend and driving upstate to visit her family in Rochester. They leave Thursday morning and return Monday evening. This is an annual event, and has no bearing on the status of our marriage. We’ve moved way beyond the point of “going home to mother.”
So I thought I’d start another thread, but make it seem more fun-loving and fancy-free.
I’m a bachelor this weekend! Woo hoo! Yee-ha!
Of course, all this really means is that I can rent a bunch of movies that nobody else wants to see and watch them in private, spend an inordinate amount of time online without impinging on anyone else’s time, and ultimately wind up missing them all like crazy by Sunday evening.
Have fun, Dave! I envy you. I enjoy the rare, brief times I get the house to myself, monopolizing the computer, making what I want for dinner without consideration of anyone else.
It rarely lasts more than a day or two, and I wouldn’t want it to, but it’s fun for a little break.
[sub]now, where can I send hubby and the Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup]??[/sub]
Moderator’s Notes: I’ve cleaned up the thread title by replacing the vB tags for the superscripted “TM” with the extended ASCII equivalent “ALT + 0153”. vB tags do not work in thread titles, or the “post subject” fields.
