the day will soon be getting brighter...

anyone one else anxiouxly awaiting daylight savings time? I think it is on the 26th but am not sure. I love having more hours of sunlight when I get home from work.

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

Since I started working 6PM to 8AM, these time changes really mean a whole lot less.

I’ts April 2nd. I love getting out of work and still having a couple hours of daylight. But I loathe the idea of losing an hours sleep in the morning.

I’ll buy that for a dollar.

I like when we go off of DST. It’s the last Sunday of October, and my birthday is in the last week of October. So 28% of the time my birthday weekend is an hour longer.

Wrong thinking is punished, right thinking is just as swiftly rewarded. You’ll find it an effective combination.

Thanks Psy… being in an office without a window from daylight to daybreak and only seeing the sun on my lunch break is such a depressant. I am one glad puppy to have the sun out when I come home now.

Well, here in Saskatchewan we don’t do daylight saving time. If you want to start a good fight here all you have to do is mention the topic. Not only that, the grammer police will string you up if you add an s to the end of saving. Yeah I know, we live in a tough neighborhood, with all that wheat waving etc.

You want brilliance BEFORE I’ve had my coffee!!!

Are you kidding? The company Golf league doesn’t start its season until DST hits (because you just can’t get nine holes of golf in after work until after that event). First practice session: April 4th.

(thwack) FORE!!! (splash)

It comes right around my birthday—so even if everyone else forgets, Mother Nature gives me a terrific present! It’s so nice having that extra daylight to go shopping, dining, socializing, whatever, after work. Screw “standard time,” let’s have daylight saving’s all year!

:: waits for the scientific post telling us it is not really daylight saving time that gives us more daylight but the way the earth revolves around the sun and how it is your location in relation to the equator and so on and so forth… ::

I know it is out there somewhere. Someone is doing the research at this very minute

Come on, PCW, you know that on any question this important you don’t have to do research because the Master has already covered it in one of his columns. http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a5_052.html The Teeming Millions already have the discussion on it going in Comments on Cecil’s Columns. http://boards.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000521.html

Wow! that took a whole 5 hours and 10 mins give or take a few seconds to reach us in MPSIMS… you guys in GQ are slipping!

I miss being in Indiana where we didn’t need DST. In summer the sun stayed out till nearly 9 o’clock and in winter it still didn’t get dark till around 6 or 6:30. It was quite a shock when DST ended here up near Chicago and I walked out of work and it was DARK at 5:30. I had quite a discussion about it with Joph.

I rode Omni in Springfield, IL

Sorry, PCW, I actually had to work yesterday afternoon or I would have gotten to it sooner. If you could just convince my employer that clients would appreciated it just as much if I cruised the SDMB all day rather than did their work I’d be much quicker here. I’m still not sure why my boss doesn’t get it.
