The day you turned 10.

Something better than this must have occurred:

9 Oct 1979: Howard Stern begins broadcasting on WCCC in Hartford Conn. Big frakking whoop.

Oliver McCall TKOs Lennox Lewis in 2 for heavyweight boxing title.

Ashton Kutcher was born.
Ethiopian offensive in Ogaden desert.
I saw Star Wars for the 10th time.

Here’s mine:

Snore.

On September 6, 1977, the Angels acquired Dave Kingman from the Padres. Nine days later the Yankees bought Kingman (who had started the season with the Mets), who therefore ended up playing in all 4 divisions in 1977. So it was quite a day in baseball history.

The day I turned 10 -

President Bush (the first one) pardoned several people involved in the Iran-Contra affair
and
There was a solar eclipse (which I vaguely remember hearing about)

Also I turned 10 which may or may not be of historical importance one day depending on what I do with my life.

Steve Stone won the Cy Young Award, which is fitting, since I was in Baltimore at the time.

Ryan Gosling was born.

8/8/1987:

I literally have no idea what this means.

There is a Kevin Bloody Wilson song (NOT “The Shane Warne Song”, a different one) that quotes him as saying, “I don’t wanna be captain, it’s my fault that they won, I don’t wanna play cricket, I just want me mum!”

Australia must be so proud of Mr. Wilson. No, really, they should be.

I got a new bike! The first BMX in my street, it was 1976 after all…

Apparently somebody I never heard of won an LPGA event I’ve never heard of.

ShelliBean, I think we were born on the same day!

Nothing happened on my 10th birthday.
