The day you turned 10.

Not very exciting to a ten year old.

I should add that Donny Hathaway was born the same day I was, so I assume his 10th birthday was the same day as mine. Hathaway took his own life when he, and I, were still in our 20s, probably thinking he had nothing to live for. In my own life, virtually everything that makes my life wonderful happened after that age. Hathaway missed out on a lot.

9/16/1968

While searching for things that happened on this day I stumbled across the daily diary of President Carter While I was entertained by the thought that he met with Imelda and wondered which shoes she wore I was most amused by:
The President was telephoned by Representative Edward I.
Koch (D-New York), Democratic candidate for Mayor of
New York City. The call was not completed.

Seriously? When the President calls you TAKE the damn call

Yankee’s lost a baseball game to KC.
Apparently it was a good date for footballers - Christian Bassila, Judy Tolan and José Fernando Fumagalli were born and if we include American soccer players you can add Chad McCarty.

Also born - a singer, a rugby player, a photographer and a cricketer.

In other news, apparently most of the information with dates on wikipedia is sports related. This post in no way reflects my interests

In news much more exciting to me, the Atari 2600 was released in Oct 1977 and I’d like to believe they released it for my birthday.

March 6, 1990:
“SR-71 sets a transcontinental record, flying 2,404 miles in 1:08:17.”
Cool!

Nothing. Not surprising to me!

I don’t know what happened on my 10th birthday. That year seems to be missing in my mind. I can’t remember who my teacher was and I’m not sure who my friends were (afraid to probe it too much like it’s a "achy-tooth.) I didn’t look at your link in case it would make me start making connections I can’t handle.
