Posting quality content instead of complaining about moderation. Using the ‘ignore’ features has removed a lot of the content I don’t want to see. I suggest you try it.
I honestly can’t remember a time when “being woke” wasn’t used sarcastically.
Sometimes it’s used idiotically. That’s how I recall seeing it. Also, there have been instances of it being used moronically.
I’ll let you know next time I see it, if I can be arsed to put work into fixing some people’s lack of awareness; in the meantime this is one example I just saw.
You think the statement “I’d just as soon see white guys all go back to where they came from”, posted by a white guy, is a seriously intended “racist” or “sexist” remark? I mean, if you think about what “going back to where they came from” would actually mean in the context of white guys, it should be clear that your interpretation doesn’t make much sense.
The trolls, quite obviously. Your logic amounts to “trolls are gonna troll, so shouldn’t we really blame the victims?” That’s stupid. Victim blaming logic always is.
It’s also the exact same logic that justifies every form of online harassment. The trans who get cyberbullied should just get thicker skins. They’re still just trolls, after all.
I will never agree with this nonsense that it’s the people who response to the trolls who are the actual problem.

And now you think my pointing out the flaw in your logic somehow counts as “racist” or “sexist”? Look, Ale, while it’s certainly true that you’re not much of a thinker, that has nothing to do with your being white or male, and I would never suggest that it did. White people and male people are not intrinsically dumber than anyone else (except sometimes about some issues involving racism or sexism, but that’s a form of culturally indoctrinated obliviousness rather than natural stupidity).
I’d say this is unfair, too, though. Bricker was accused of voting for Trump very early on until he made it clear that he did not. It was not some ongoing thing. If a new poster did come in later and incorrectly make that assumption, every other poster in that thread would tell them they were wrong. In fact, Bricker was specifically cited repeatedly as proof that even the Republicans on this board did not support Trump–until some others came in and said they did.
This is also a very short period of the board’s history, when Bricker has been posting here for a long time, and has been called out for his bullshit quite often–particularly his “gotcha games” and other dishonest debating tactics. If people dislike Bricker beyond his politics, those are the reasons why.
Why can’t you address my complaint about the endless body shaming of Trump and why people don’t get admonished for that? Do you have the mental capacity to justify it? Maybe someone can help you out?

Maybe – just maybe, I’m going out on a limb here – maybe by his own constant body shaming of others, Trump is inviting that sort of ridicule. He’s the one setting the tone in those discussions.
Not that this means they never go too far. Next time someone calls Trump a shit-gibbon in GQ you should probably report it. I do, occasionally, if I think it’s bad enough.

Donald Trump is an asshole. Everyone agrees he’s an asshole, and nobody bothers to defend the asshole. By his very nature, he invites abuse, and therefore is worthy of every bit of scorn we can put on his fat ass, his ridiculous hair, his obvious incestuous feelings for his daughter, his pouty whiny baby lips… all of it is fair game.
And why? Why is he so special?

It’s not a double-standard – I’ve seen it moderated before (in GD and Elections, IIRC). And if you’re not reporting it when you see it, then the moderators may miss it. LAZombie is a troll so obvious that even I can see it.

And god, octopus, but your endless and lazy whining about the board and the posters is so, so tiresome. You used to put effort and thought into discussions, but nowadays it’s rare that I see any post from you that isn’t an effort-free, mindless whine about the board, with the same predictable so-broad-as-to-be-useless potshots like that last one.
