You can NOT just say whatever you want about Trump where ever you want. Jumping into unrelated threads and raving about him is threadshitting; if you take your insults too far, you WILL be warned. This is what the mods have told us and what we have seen them do.
You have more leeway to “body shame” Trump because his own behavior invites this sort of treatment. This is why a thread for slobbering over AOC’s dance moves is inappropriate but insulting Trump isn’t-- it’s all about context, and the politicians’ own behavior.

Yes, it looks like it’s endless but that’s the funny thing about being a single poster that points out the hypocrisy of a whole group of other posters. A group that’s made it their decade long obsession to manipulate the mods and this board to create an environment friendly only for a clique.
But if you took the aggregate of posts that concerned the nature of the board mine would be a small fraction of the total. That’s just the nature of being in the ideological minority.
Look at this very thread, the subject of it is another of an endless series of veiled threats about the future of this board if the OP’s vision of the board isn’t realized.
Anyways, iiandyiiii, you know my issue isn’t with this board. It’s with the hypocrisy of a group who on one hand whine and threaten because the board isn’t ‘welcoming’ but then on the other hand are the biggest, organized group that makes the board unwelcoming for others. The point is that yes, people were calling Bush a chimp all the time… in 2009. Back then, people also posted endless hypothetical that often involved sex and consent and often made people very uncomfortable. We put a stop to that.
The point is, we are saying, “The Dope has always had a misogynistic undertone that was tolerated. This has made women feel unwelcome, and we have decided to change that.” You are saying, “what do you mean, I have to watch what I say? People used to call GWB a chimp all the time!”. They did, and that’s a problem, just like the misogyny was. The rules have changed, and we wouldn’t tolerate that today. So it’s not relevant to the discussion.

The problem is that there’s a certain segment around here who has basically inserted their own values for the board’s collective values, in large part, and disagreeing with this takes on a moral value- you’re not coming from a different perspective, you’re coming from a WRONG perspective. You’ll get pilloried, even though what you’re saying is totally a matter of opinion and not science.
That, I think is the biggest threat around here- its transformation into one of those echo chambers we all like to decry is nearly complete. IMO, we’d be better off with a large and vital intelligent conservative contingent- both sides would be forced to examine and possibly reevaluate their positions.
