Stop demanding impossible to meet standards of precision as evidence of obvious to any but the willfully blind or dishonest board characteristics.

With the way some around here demand complete precision in language we couldn’t even state that water is wet without it being challenged. Yet, use language that isn’t approved by the hive mind and one will be told not only exactly what that language means but also exactly the thought process and character of the one using it.

So not only do we have a hive mind the hive mind refuses to play by its own rules.

So, just to clarify, your position is that the word can’t be defined because defining it would prove that you’re using it wrong. You know you’re using it wrong, and you know that no sensible, honest person could ever describe this forum as a hive mind, particularly in comparison to typical conservative forums. Of course you’re not honest, and very very probably not sensible, so you continue to misuse the word like a moron in an extraordinarily juvenile attempt to troll.

To be fair, there is a frequently-expressed opinion that the moderators are far too lenient on conservatives who post on the forums, especially those who are often referred to in the Pit as trolls. That could be interpreted (in an extreme way) as a wish that all conservatives be kicked out.

There was disagreement largely about the merits and/or effectiveness of the proposal, not the underlying assumption about racism.

There’s more examples of course, but it is hard to take seriously the view that the SDBM isn’t unwelcoming to conservative viewpoints. What with personal responsibility being racist, conservative values being based on bigotry, and not being sufficiently outraged regarding US deportation practices is like concentration camps, gulags, killing fields, and genocide. Or that wanting power delegated locally in hopes of greater liberty is racist. Or opposition to the ACA is racist.

And there are plenty of times that anyone on the liberal side of the spectrum, or anyone on the gun control side of the spectrum, gets told what their nefarious motives are, over and over again.

The board isn’t really all that welcoming to anyone on the left either.

It’s fine. I’ll continue thinking that a number of progressives and liberals are like fascists, so it’s all simpatico.

For instance, given the comments that you make in GD threads about your beliefs about the motives of your debate opponents, I really don’t think that you are joking here, and that you really do see liberals and progressives as fascists. How welcoming is that?

For real? There is a current thread in GD equating right wing folks with racists. Or those that support gun rights as racists. The board isn’t very open towards conservatives or right leaning views at all. This isn’t helped by the fact that so many conservative arguments are often presented poorly.

OK, here it is. Why don’t you resolve to fight against those poor arguments? What do you have to gain by letting them go. You are an officer in the “fighting ignorance” army, being a mod here. Why not fight the fight?

If a conservative did that do you think it might change the perceptions of users about conservatism?
