Lupus is an autoimmune disease.
News to the writers, apparently. The doctors bring up both as two different possibilities.
Let me guess, the treatment for one will cause insta-death if the patient has the other. The clock is ticking! Make a decision!
So how’s it going?
I’m guessing you lost the bet?
I’ve read this thread from the beginning but haven’t posted. I say that only so it won’t appear I’m thread-shitting. That said, the original deadline of Thursday has come and gone, and now the weekend is behind us as well. Diogenes may enjoy the intellectual exercise of writing short fiction in script form, but I can’t see how he’ll prove anything.

Maybe he died of lupus.
It’s Not Lupus!
Well, if anything he’s proved that he can’t do what regular screen writers are called to do on pretty much a daily basis.
And saying that he’s not going to put himself under the same constraints because he’s not getting paid for it is bullshit. Either you can do it under the same conditions or you can’t, no excuses.
And how the fuck can he do it under the same conditions? Do most television writers work a full time job and write scripts on the side? Actually, given their general quality, I’d say that must be the case.
So you’re saying you can do better?
Unless they’re offering to pay him the minimum that they are currently on strike demanding, I’m firmly on the side of let **Dio ** take his sweet, sweet time.
It’s almost done. I slacked off a lot during the holiday and then I got sick. I’m just finishing the third act. Researching this was a pain in the ass. I shouldn’t have picked a medical show. I think I can have the link up sometime friday or maybe tomorrow night.
Yeah, it’s taking longer than I thought. I lack discipline. The writing itself isn’t difficult. I’m just lazy and easily distracted.
Why is there a cat at the top of the page?

Thank goodness professional writers don’t face holidays or illness. They also don’t have to stay focused and busy when they don’t feel like it, or do pain-in-the-ass research.
Ahh, the sweet, sweet life of being a TV writer. It’s so much easier than being an Internet grump.
Yeah, wiseass, but did you know that each writer for House has 3 medical consultants working with him on the script? No, didn’t think so. Considering Dio had to do the job of 4 people in this case (not to mention that there is a team of writers who consult on the characterization and overall story arc), I think you should cut him a little more of a fucking break. But then, it’s much easier to be a snarky Internet bitch than it is to research and write something, isn’t it?
I think that’s precisely what Diogenes is discovering.

They also get paid. This isn’t my job and I don’t have the luxury of having a team of technical consultants appointed to me.
No I’m not. Nothing so far has been difficult for me. Just tedious.
Like I said, it’s precisely what you are discovering.
Writing is tedious and requires discipline. It’s easier being a snarky internet bitch. We both know that (as I avoid finishing a couple of writing projects).
Hah. That’s one of the best slams I’ve seen on this board in a long while. I salute you, madam.
