Howdy Y’all! Home from irk, had dindin (grilled poke chops, peas ‘n carrots, wild rice and rolls), and been surfin’ for cabins for rent for a few days around Gatlinburg, TN. Plans are afoot for JDD and Partner along with OYKW and me to run away for a few days in late February. I found one with two bedrooms, two king sized beds, 2 baths, huge livin’ room with gas fireplace, wrap around porch, huge deck, gas grill and a hot tub all for a little over five hundred bucks for three days, four nights. As soon as everybody looks at it on the website and gives their stamp of approval (like that should matter since I approve :D) I shall book said cabin.

Covered tight they should be ok three or four days. If you’ve already had 'em a couple of days I’d suggest you parboil the ribs. Bring water to a boil and let the ribs boil about ten minutes. That’d buy you a couple more days.

I love Gatlinburg! And Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood! My mom, brother, and I used to go there every Christmas and rent a cabin for 3-5 days. Great memories
So I have decided that I can no longer take the twins to karate by myself anymore. If they get in trouble or are made to sit for not doing what they are told to do in class, I get embarrassed and upset at them and I feel like they are taking it for granted and do not appreciate the time and money I have put into giving them this opportunity. So I get upset with them and it’s not worth it anymore. If they are going to go their father will have to be the one to take them. I am out.
They accepted our offer! Hopefully in two weeks time we’ll be under contract!
We actually had the lower bid, but they liked our terms better, so wahoo!

So, it was an interesting moment as I’ve got this weirdo cold going on, I started to go up a step at which time I sneezed. The momentum of the sneeze propelled me forward and my bad knee actually gave out on me. Long time since that’s happened.
I took it as a sign to sit down and rest awhile before finishing my work for the night.

Ours are only a few years old, and healthy so far, but I am sure one day we will have similar news, and I will be a very, very sad panda. I hope she has a good length of time left to be spoiled and as pain-free as possible. But you spoil her anyway, right? This is just an excuse. Like one’s needed. <3
Tomorrow workers come to rip out the inlaws’ flooring. Not replace it, not yet, 'cause they just ordered the stuff and it’ll be a while, but removal will take a couple days anyway. I’m estimating we are looking at at least 10 days, maybe longer, of trying to keep the 5 dogs confined either outside or in their crate. Outside would be ok except we are going to be below freezing for the next 4 days, so they’ll be out there, but it’s not gonna be fun. And they hate the crate, as they’re often in it 10 hours a night already. So…gonna be up to me to keep them snuggled and warm outside, I guess. Such awful duties I have.
