Go for the rope.
They are useful to have around. ![]()

I got this one instead. The other machine was out of stock and this one was better and cheaper anyway!

I’m feeling nostalgic because this guy turns 18 yo in three weeks.

VWife has, no shit, 8 sewing machines, and I’m all over her to thin the herd. Maybe we can set you up?
I’ll get her opinion on your link in the meantime.
ETA: You were pretty fast on pushing that ‘Buy It Now’ button.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Blurf morning.
I had a brilliant idea to take some benadryl before I went to bed last night. I thought it would help me sleep. WRONG. Instead, somewhere in the middle of the night I was laying there having what I call ‘restless body syndrome’ and I was too drowsy to get up and walk it off. Fortunately it let go of me eventually and I did get some sleep.
That salad has quinoa, onions, green onions, edamame, red, yellow, and green peppers, celery, black beans, corn, almonds, and italian dressing.
Not sure what I’m going to do today. I think it depends on how much my nose decides to run.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 79 for the day. Thus, I am wearin’ shorts and a tshirt as I post.
Apes cute video! Also I like the quilt material.
flytrap I trust the ribs met with approval.
StickyBuns if I take Benadryl[sup]TM[/sup] I’m zonked. Thus I cannot take it and function but the stuff works great on me.
Today is do or die day re the mountain trip. Either I book the reservation, somebody else handles it, or we don’t go. I just want a decision made. It’s a nice cabin and we need to do this before somebody else reserves it.
Now, it’s time for more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. No big plans for the day.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
If I get thru the day without killing a doggeh, it’ll be a miracle. First, she wakes me at 5:30 by leaping on the bed and trying to bite my head (**FCD **was in the shower after taking the dog out and feeding her and I suspect one of the cats opened our bedroom door.) After he went to the office, he locked her back in her cage, and I slept until 7, but when I took her outside, she refused to piddle. Of course, once back in the house, she peed on the carpet, not 3 feet from where I was sitting (behind me, so I didn’t see her.) Today will be carpet-cleaning day. rah.
It will also be start-to-disassemble-the-kitchen day. On Monday, **FCD **is going to the manufacturer’s to help with the pattern layout for the counters. We’re both taking Tuesday off when the counters are being installed. I’ll be putting up an ad to sell the old counter pieces - hoping someone will give us $50 for them and I won’t have to pay $10 to take them to the dump. One section is 11’ long - that’d make a heck of a work bench! So we shall see.
Other excitement for today will include doing laundry, because no matter how often you wash clothes, they get dirty again.
**Apes **- your machine looks similar to mine, and I’ve been very happy with it. I know mine is a different model, but the controls and stitch selection seem to be the same. It’s not as heavy-duty as my old Viking, but then the Viking I wanted would have cost over $1000 by the time I got all the accessories I wanted, so there’s that. Have fun quilting - it’s one craft I could never get interested in. I admire those who can do it well, but I never wanted to try it myself.
I think that’s all for now. I’m done with breakfast and I really should get some chores done. But it’s foggy and dreary and I just can’t get motivated. Anyone have any motivational words to offer??
Happy Saturday!
I slept until 8:30! felt good.
Cats like fruitcake.
Dammit.

I would have suggested the Brother 6000i, which adds a hard case/cover for $155, but it’s hard to go too wrong with any of the Brother machines in that price range. We’ve given one or two 6000i machines as gifts, and have one as an ultraportable - it weighs less than the case for our Baby Lock embroidery machine. Probably costs less than a Baby Lock case as well.
AFAIK, the internals are the same for the most part and it’s mostly a matter of features and accessories in the box - the 6000i comes with quilting and walking feet, and I’m guessing a Project Runway branded machine wouldn’t, but might add a Tim Gunn seam ripper or maybe a pair of Michael Kors nippers.
Anyway, have fun sewing!
Is it just me, or does “Baby Lock” seem really kinky and wrong?
I don’t know if my sister’s cat would like fruitcake. He doesn’t seem to like human foods that other cats would like (meat and milk.) But he does like lemon cupcakes, banana bread, potato chips, fries, and cigarettes. (We don’t actually give him these items - he’s occasionally found them on the ground and tried to eat them.)
VWife says that this one is OK for everyday sewing and quilting, but not enough for stuff like making purses or other things with heavy fabrics.
LOL. I am impulsive. It’s a curse
That is all I am going to do right now. I can’t even sew a pair of pajama pants so I think a beginner machine is just fine for me. My first project will be the quilt. My dad gave me some money for Christmas and I hadn’t spent it yet because I felt guilty spending money on myself when we have to be very careful with our finances and only use them for things we need. Finally I realized everyone else was getting what they needed or wanted and I wasn’t getting anything, so I got my sewing machine.
LOL
Mawnin all, Happy Sattiday
Up Caffinating and about to head out to the old house remodel, have some I’s to cross and some t’s to dot.
I had a good and easy gig last night but hoo boy it was long. The ride home on the other hand was teh suckage. Wet, slick, foggy and besotted drunks everywhere and they were trying to kill me with gusto. The guy who followed me for 8 miles, apparently hoping his car could have sex with my motorcycle muffler, was particularly special. Aaargh
Gotta run
Hugs as needed
