Holy smokes, :smack:, I bought some StGermain liquor recently and wondered if any dopers might know something about it. It just hit me, is that where your name comes from? I added it to champagne over Christmas, New Years, yesterday, etc. ![]()
Yeah, what’s up with that? They always know what time it is.
Back in high school, I was on the State/AV crew. The older guys were all avid rock climbers and after we were done on any given evening setting up lights or cabling for a show, after everybody else left the school we’d go climbing all over the building. The outside of it. No equipment, of course.
[too blurfy to read everything]
But - while living at home, the worst I did was stay out way past curfew, but having called the 'rents to tell them I was staying out, it was okay - and they knew, liked, and trusted the guy I was with. At college, I’ve pulled all nighters studying and other all nighters partying - My buds and I had befriended the owner/bartender and bouncer and a small out-of-the-way pub, so we often stayed til closing, drank some more without being charged (because he couldn’t sell at that hour) then went to breakfast with the guys, getting back to the dorm at around 8am. I had learned quickly during freshman year to never again schedule any classes before 11:am
Howdy from da cave! No cookin’ tonight as OYKW has a hankerin’ to swipe the General’s dindin. Thus, the chikin pot pie will be tomorrow’s dindin. Works for me!
Nuts you bad girl!
I am going to have to accept that I was the worst Mumper kid, so I will make a quick list
Did $120,000 worth of damage to the house and furnishings by lighting it on fire, accidental electrical, thats 1987 dollars
Threw many wild parties at said house, lots of naked people in the pool kinda parties, while my parents were out for the evening
Band practice that is what the living room is for, unannounced people would just show with gear and we would drink all the beer when my parents left to get away from the noise
I had a 1970 Ford econoline van that someone had decorated inside in four color shag carpet, a queen sized bed and mirrors. It had no muffler just two pieces of oilfield pipe attached to the exhaust manifold that were bent to outlet in front of the back tires. So loud I had to make a deal with the neighbors and “officer Joe” to shut it off at the end of our street, drift to the house after 10pm. IIRC “officer Joe” was a County Constable and yes he knew us well, the band wrote a song about him. We played it for him as he was vainly banging on the door. Actually a very nice guy took my brother to jail a bunch, me never.
Muratic Acid, Aluminum Foil and two liter coke bottles = big boom, got to talk to a Postal Inspector and HPD about that. Taught some friends and they blew up a bricked in mail box, apparently blew bricks a hundred feet or so, little rats. Didn’t go to jail for that either.
I was a horrible kid, I promise I am much nicer now
I will stop now as I have paid for my sins
Jim
Hey mumpers, my mom is in the hospital with pneumonia and possible heart complications in addition to her liver failure. Prayers and the like would be most welcome, thanks guys in advance.
Good lord. My wishes for a speedy recovery, for what they are worth.

Hmm, late-night stories…
When I was a kid, and even a teen, I was good. When I was 20, I started drinking.
Yes, I have stayed out all night drinking.
All appendages crossed, including those of 7 doggies. Oh, and the two cats as well, since they’re kind of in that position anyway right now; if I ASKED them to, they’d belligerantly stretch out and hold it just to be…cats, ya know.
Welp, been waiting for a couple of months to find out about a local job, and the official result is ‘Nope’. Rather, it’s ‘If you’d been hired, you’d know by now.’ So…off to my dad’s in Idaho. I am really going to miss all the doggies and the cats and of course my sweetie, MrTao. But him, I can talk to, at least. The doggie aren’t gonna know what happened once I leave.
The cats…meh. They might miss their mommy.
Once the weather clears up in the spring, I’m sure I’ll try to rig a road trip to pick up Mouse, at least. But it’s a few weeks til I leave, so in the meantime I will enjoy all the puppy snuggles as I have been the last couple months. ![]()
OOOOh, late night stories? Hrm. I know I have all kinds, as I like walking round at night. I do remember sneaking out of the house a couple times as a 17 year old, once out the window and another time right past my dad sleeping in the living room lazyboy, lol. But right now can’t think of anything particularly exciting, hrm. I’m sure I will eventually; we got all week!
{{{wiki and wikimom}}} Prayers and good thoughts headed out. Hope she’s better soonest.
Jim you win the mumper bad kid award. Congratulations!
The General’s dindin has been et and OYKW headed back to his place to deal with paperirk the poor thing.
{{{{{wiki}}}}} sending my best wishes
Swampy I just started remembering all the terrible stuff I did as a kid, ya know, I would write one down and three more would pop into my head. I am fortunate not to have children I cannot imagine how bad they would be. Armed robbery at 12? I also figured you would have been a very bad boy but not so much I see.
Had nom nom Pink’s Pizza hoo boy it is good. I would provide a link but the BlackBerry tablet I have yet to master.
Anyhoo
Jim

I can’t believe I didn’t have any sketty sauce in the freezer!! So we had mac-n-cheese, and **FCD **is also having some leftover tacos - he bought a dozen yesterday and didn’t eat them all.
I talked to an agent at the cruise place - I thought I was being generous with a $7500 estimate for the trip, but I was pretty close. I sent several options to my mom - we may modify our original plans now that we have some totals. We shall see what happens.
I was supposed to stop at the Pass office at the base so I can get access, but they close at 3. I get off work at 3. I’m going to have to go tomorrow morning. I can’t believe they close so early!!
Looks like **FCD **is headed to PA next week, so I’ll have to take a day off when they install the counters. And I may be without a sink and dishwasher till he gets back because the counter guys don’t install plumbing and I’m not sure I want to deal with the dishwasher line, the disposal, the supply lines, and the drains. Pain in the patoot!!!
Oh well…
Good luck to your mom, kai. All the best wishes and good thoughts your way.
We’re putting an offer down tonight on a house… We’ll see…
Jim I was just your run of the mill sneak outta the house, drink beer and mess around youngster. Never trashed anyone’s house, never got into fights, never blew stuff up. Well, except for my sis’s Ken doll with a cherry bomb. He deserved it though. We were playin’ Army and he was an enemy spy.
Of course, my sexual encounters were of the gay variety and I was somewhat adventuresome but that might be more TMI than one should share.
Yay on the house Soapy! Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed.
****Wait **Swampy **is Gay?
Man that never gets old:D
Jim
Nice to know that swampy is happy.
{{wiki}} I hope things will be all right for you and your family.
I went to the ER last Tuesday and it looks like I may need to see the Doctor again tomorrow. I still feel ill, these antibiotics aren’t working. I didn’t keep down my breakfast from this morning or my dinner from this evening and my stomach is still making strange noises.
{{Apes}} (that was a gentle hug so as not to hurt you or the little one)
I hope you stop feeling sick soon.
My mother phoned my dad recently. Not to say what she’s up to, and not really to ask how the family’s doing - just to ask if her car insurance had come in the mail. My dad said maybe it would’ve been better if she hadn’t phoned at all.
