This is one of the most amazing pieces of music I have heard. Jim Morrison would be dead 2 concerts later. This is the 60s at its best. Thank you YouTube for bringing history into our homes the way a book never can.
Thanks for that! I was a big Doors fan back in the day but never saw the recording of Isle of Wight performance. I watched long enough to hear Roadhouse Blues and Back Door Man, and I’ll look forward to watching the rest later!
The captions with the bit of info about what the Doors were involved in at the time brought me back to reading the biography “No One Here Gets Out Alive”. Makes me wonder if Jim had lived long enough to get sent to Raiford Prison for a couple years for the pending indecency charges, what a different timeline that would’ve been. It wouldn’t have been fun but he would have had a chance to dry out and maybe live a couple more decades.
Id like to bump this for people who might have missed it. Its the 3rd from last concert the Doors would perform with Jim Morrison. He was sober and on top of his game. It was in the middle of the night and the lighting was fucked up upping its surrealness. If you are even modestly interested in their music this might be of interest.

It’s a very good show. Unfortunately, the critics complained because Jim didn’t move around. He did an interview and discussed how he had gone 36 hours of no sleep… Going from Miami right to England.
