The dicks who own this place.
Hats must be worn at all times? wtf?
Eh, that dress code just doesn’t come off that bad to me. It wouldn’t be out of place at “classy” entertainment venues or most nightclubs.
Granted, I’ve never been to Bottled Blonde, and won’t be going while I’m in town this weekend - the best karaoke bar in the world is in Wicker Park, and I haven’t visited in a couple years.
Parts of it are okay, but I think a lot of it is over the top. No tattoos on hands? WTF?
On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind opening my own bar and imposing my own personal dress code on the public. Their bar, they can do what they want. Still, it puts out a strong hit of racism.
The best karaoke bar in the world is in Wicker Park? Do tell.
Hats must be worn forward at all times. I’m guessing going without a hat is acceptable but, if worn, cannot be backwards or sideways.
I’m more mystified at “no matching colors of shoes, hat, and/or shirt”. I find it difficult to believe that they’d refuse entry to Pat Boone.
You can’t wear white shirts.
Did you read the whole thing? It’s 29 fucking bullet points. I didn’t think it was racist at first, just ridiculous. But then I got to this part:
He had to work at it. You know, “arbeit macht Frei”.
What, too soon?
I don’t get how it’s racist, either. Mind you I’m a pasty, white Canadian but I have athletic shoes and high socks.
Are these things typically worn mostly by non-whites where this club is?
Can’t wear white tee-shirts. Doesn’t say anything about white dress shirts.
If shoes or hat are white, then you have to take off your white dress shirt.
Well, his shoes are matching color, so…
I think that is true, it also seems like it is enforced selectively since many of the pictures on the clubs own facebook page shows white people in violation of the code. I may be just an excuse to keep out “undesireables” by saying that they are in violation of some obscure part of the dress code.
Also note the clause “changing your appearance will not change the decision”. So its clearly not really about the dress code
Exactly my point about Pat Boone.
